Car is still not back after two weeks in the garage

So my RCZ has been in the garage a week now I bought it from new Aug 2013 from Perrys Milton Keynes, in the last 3 months it's been in twice also just had its first service, they have found a timing chain fault which seems to be a major engine strip down so they say, also found some kind of coking in the engine which requires another 20hrs of work, I am not a happy man as you can imagine, I don't really want a car back that's been messed about with, seems mad to have two faults like this in just over a year and 15k mileage, what kind of rights do I have do reject my car back or swap it like for like or cancel my car hand back keys etc.. I just feel like I have lost confidence in my RCZ. I have raised a call with head office and waiting to hear back. Paying a lot of money a month for no car it's a joke. Anyone else had similar things happen. Love my rcz but want it back, I got rid of my 207 because I had some problems near the end but that was after 7 years. Hi I'm sure you know about the common timing chain/ tensioner issues with these cars but I thought Peugeot had sorted this out on later cars. I've had the full timing kit changed on my 2010 launch edition when I hit problems after 17K miles but I was lead to believe that new up restated parts were available so looks like Peugeot haven't got the top side of this problem on newer cars. I deafinately wouldn't be happy if my car had faults like this after only one year of ownership! At least it shouldn't cost you anything unlike me with mine out of warranty. Peugeot should be looking after RCZ owners for stumping up the cash for these cars in the first place. I bet for most RCZ owners it's the first Peugeot they have owned and probably their last. :thumbdown:

Hi Ed,

Mine just spent 18 days in the garage.... water pump, chain tensioner and small oil leak.

Mines an 11 reg, and I have never been sooo glad to have taken out extended warranty!

Whilst mine was 'away' I toyed with whether to keep it or sell it etc.... but as soon as had the keys back in my hand, I walked up to the car with a massive grin on my face, got in and drove, still smiling like a Cheshire Cat. My love for my car has not diminished at all!! And it will be staying for now.

hear loads of people have had this issue, they also said they had to clear some cylinders due to Coking, and also replace the head gasket, all after 15k, wont cost me anything but has ruined my confidence in the car I loved, I had Peugeot all my life started with 206, 306, 207, now RCZ my next car I doubt will be a Peugeot again, going to trade this for a new TT in few years just abit fed up, I am going to ask if I can cancel the agreement now or swap it for Another RCZ not sure if that's possible the Sale/service manager is about to call me I would like to swap it for the RCZR if possible but we will See.

As max would ask what kind of petrol u been using reg95 or super98-99?
