Calling all RCZ owners near Nottingham!

Right, unusual request here!

I'm more or less certain I'd like to buy an RCZ... I'm going to test drive a couple of other cars tomorrow but I've already ruled out 3 other options in the last week and the 'little Pug' is winning my affections :)

Problem is, I suffer from an odd back condition. It seems sports cars are more comfortable for me... YAY!

It takes a good 30, 40 mins though to tell if a car will be suitable for my back, and no-one wants to let me test drive a car that long!

I looked at hiring a RCZ for a day, but I'm struggling to find one near Nottingham. It seems http://www.mu.peugeot.co.uk/ allow you to rent one from Birmingham - I tried a few dates but none were available and it suggested I emailed them, which I will do...

However, a near perfect one has come up and I'm loathe to miss out on it, but don't want to buy it until I'm certain.

Hence the nature of my unusual request...

Anyone in the Nottingham area willing to let me drive theirs (with them as the passenger, of course!) for 45 minutes?!? of course this generosity will be paid for (and petrol!) with cash, beer, or (if you're a hot chick) sexual favours ;)

Answers on a postcard please.

Actually no, respond via this forum please - it'll be a tad quicker :D

P.S. Just to reassure anyone considering letting me drive theirs; I'm not some teenager joyrider. I'm nearly 37, an IT Consultant working for a reputable automobile company, I've owned many (many) different cars (including high powered vehicles such as a 370bhp modified Nissan 300ZX) in 19 years of driving and have no points and have never had a crash (YET!), am insured to drive other vehicles etc etc

Just to add, if I could do this tomorrow afternoon between 3 and 5 or Sunday after 10:30 that would be ultra awesome (NOW I sound like a teenager...)

Have you contacted John Harrison Peugeot in Nottingham ? Ask for James and mention Kez (Kerry) from the RCZ Owners Group.

Hi mrrossi :greetings-wavingblue:

..simply go to a Peugeot dealership explain that you are considering buying a NEW RCZ and explain your back issues and see if you can test drive one for the necessary time period unaccompanied i'd imagine as say 30 to 40 mins is not too onerous for a potential sale.

OH and "Hi RCZ1" as I've not seen you in the 'Forum Chamber' much in recent months ,,not that I have been here much myself but I have retained my fave Back Benchers seat and during the summer although not yet a junior 'Master Detailer' I studied the virtues of wax over that of sealants !!

I've contacted James at John Harrison Peugeot for you. They don't have a RCZ demo at the moment but he can get one for you for next weekend and you can have it for a long test drive. Let me know if this is suitable for you then I can let him know and he can get the demo for you and then you can contact him directly. I hope this helps.

Hi there big blue - it's good to see a friendly face :)

I hope you are keeping well and looking after that RCZ of yours ? Would it be bad of me to say that Ruby is wearing a sealant / coating for winter ! Not a wax in sight. I promise to resume normal waxing duties again in Spring :)

Hi all' :greetings-wavingblue:

It certainly seems that this post has netted the desired results for mrrossi (although i'm sure that he is not actually Mr Valentino Rossi who has graced this Forum with his presence as I'm sure any dealership would lend him a Z' for as long as he wanted) !

RCZ1 yes a familiar voice indeed  ,,albeit your confession about waxing was quite personal as wot a grown woman does OR will not do until the spring is not always to be voiced to all and sundry BUT thanks for sharing!!

Alls fine with my Z' although soon to replace the two rears with Michelin Pilot Super Sports to match the fronts AND made happier still by the falling price of the 19's on the TYRE LEADER website. I trust all's as sparkling as ever with your Z' and that your attendance in the Chamber remains as pleasurable as the alluring lines of the Z' itself !

Hi' Renegade79 :greetings-wavingblue:

Back Benchers who write books normally do so having resided in one of Her Majesty hotels due to the amount of time they have on their hands ,,AND I can assure the right honourable gentleman who decrees himself a 'renegade' from '1979' or age '79' that although I have eaten porridge I have never done porridge and alas have never written a book but 'Thank You' for such praise !

.the big blue (..one of the Forum's natural story tellers. ,,BUT what RCZ1 personally proclaimed within this post was not a story BUT true, although I doubt it will be featured in the November photo competition, I'm Just Saying) !!

Thanks all and apologies for not responding; I wasn't receiving any alerts informing me that I had received any replies.

I spent several evenings and some time at the weekend test driving a number of cars trying to determine which was the best for my back - and I'm afraid it wasn't the RCZ. The winner was, bizarrely, a Mercedes SLK! The seats seem to be MADE for my back... lovely.

So I've been able to treat myself to a nice Merc for the sake of 'medical purposes' - great excuse :)

Thanks everyone for their help!

Rossi
(not Valentino - although I do ride a bike ;D )
