I´ve bought a RCZ-R with 24000km and as you can see on the attached photo, the engine mount looks burned on the middle.
I don´t know if this is normal on the rcz models and it is something quite extrange for a "new" car...
Do you guys have the same situation with yours?
Your help is too much appreciated.

Re: Burned engine mount??

That looks a little worrying for a car with such low mileage

Thats why I don't know if it is normal..
I've searchint in google for images and it looks like there was a brown paperboard cover that was probably burned with the heating of this engine.
Can you check in yours please?
Any R owners help will be very very appreciated.

Re: Burned engine mount??

24 000 km is about 15000 miles

Mine has done 4500 ish miles mine is still as new.

Maybe someone else can help.

Has the car had a hard life with previous owner/s?

Would have thought that there wasn't anything to burn there, is there any warranty left?

Re: Burned engine mount??

Since you have warranty take it back to peugeot.
See if they will replace it as it should not do that.

Re: Burned engine mount??

Strange that. Mine looks exactly the same and its done 17000 miles. The white stuff looks and feels like lithium grease, which there maybe is a reason for, but I don't understand the burnt look. Any of you guys out there have the same issue?

Even if it's a common thing on R's it's obviously not supposed to do that is it, so take in to your local Peugeot dealers and get them to sort it out for you under warranty.

I went to Peugeot this morning and ordered a new part, the warranty will cover the part and the replacement.
Now it seems a common thing on the R's due to the high temperatures that this engine reaches I believe.
I think it will happen exactly the same with the new one.
This is how it looks like brand new.

I will keep you posted. Any other information from R owners will be good.
Thank you hubcaps!!

10k miles on my R and no issue, i would say that it could be waxoil or a wax type substance that may have melted but not an issue on mine tbh.

Looks like they use a grease or wax on the mount and would say its that and not any burning, a bit of gunk will probably clean it off.

Anyway, it is already replaced with no charges.
This is how the new one looks like with no grease or whatever.

Honestly? Waste of resources and time. Only because the mount "looks like burnt" (the heat under the hood would never be high enough to actually burn it. Would it be, many other parts would be gone earlier than this mount) it doesn't mean it is faulty.

I had a horible clunking noise from under the bonnet. The engine mounts were lubricated to look like your original "burnt" mount. This stopped all creaking and clunking. Aparrently it was a service instruction from peugeot... Get yours re greased to prevent creaking in the future..
