Brake "Grind" / Sticking calliper?

I have owned my Peugeot RCZ 1600 Sport Automatic 12 months now and still am experiencing a noise from the brakes that is like as if they are sticking / grinding for an instant just as I move off from standing. Peugeot have replaced the pads and skimmed the disks but to no avail. does anyone else have this problem? I have done about 5000 miles on the new pads as suggested by Peugeot when I bought it from them and this has not made any difference to the noise. I have driven another RCZ Auto and this one was silent! I would appreciate a big response so I can evaluate my problem as I am in dispute with Peugeot at this time to get a solution.

Does it happen every time you set off or just when the car has been stood for a while?

I only ask because I'll wash mine and maybe not drive it the same day but the next time I do the pads will be stuck to the discs. It's quite a weird sensation having to give a few extra revs to unstick each time but it's not abnormal behaviour.

Hello just a thought you haven't mentioned where you think the noise is from ..front or rear??? Front pads on these were modified when car first came out .. And would recommend NEW disc although this does come at a cost.. How ever it may actually be the rear making the noise???? . When the noise appears.. Apply handbrake slightly and see if this amplifies noise..obviously take care when doing this as not to cause a accident .. If noise gets worse then it's the rear.. A common problem people always assume it's the front.

When I had my first test drive of the car last year it had 5000 miles on the clock and had been used as a demonstration car by the Peugeot dealership I bought it from. Whilst driving it I noticed there was a noise from the front(?) brakes and it was pulling slightly to the left. the noise is only there for an instant almost every time we set off and it is only on for a couple of seconds. I highlighted this to the salesman and he said he would have it all sorted should I decide to buy the car.
I bought the car but was disappointed to find when I collected it that it still had the noise. To cut a long story short, they had the car more than I did for the first 2 months. It had new front brake pads and the disks "skimmed"? but to no avail. I agreed to, as they requested "put some miles on the car" which I have done, totalling almost 5000, and the "noise" is still there.
It's in the dealership now having it's interim service and they have re-checked the brakes again finding nothing? So that's where I am at, I have a fantastic car that has an annoying noise on it. What I am trying to find out is if anyone else is experiencing the same "noise"

So, that seems to rule out hill assist, handbrake, & sticking after a wash. In fact, looking at what you say has been done to the car, it might not even be brake associated at all. Maybe a suspension issue, wheel bearing, cv/ball joint, or even transmission. I haven't personally come across this before, and I am not a mechanic, so it's pure speculation I'm afraid.

Hopefully either someone on here will know what it could be, or the dealer will stumble across a solution for you. Either way, hope you get it sorted soon.

Let us know how you get on, it might help someone else out in the future. :eusa-think:

Hello again. If this happens almost every morning may I suggest you drop car off the night before and go back the next morning and demonstrate the noise to technician or the salesman that way you can both agree that there is a noise then when they think they have fixed it then they know what to do to recreate it?.

Hope you get it sorted soon.
Our 2008 has sticky rear brakes most of the time, we are changing the car shortly so hopefully the new one will be ok.
I should add the car will be serviced before passing on so the brakes will be look at.
