Boot

Hi Everyone, I haven't been on here for a while, but thought I would let you know of a problem with my car I'm hoping to get resolved next week. The boot on my car has a mind of it's own !! It started a few weeks ago, whenever I unlock my car the boot opens. When ever I stop my car and open the door, the boot opens. I took it back to the dealer who had a look and said water had got into the mechanism (probably due to the amount of snow ice we have had here). Anyway, been waiting over a week for the part, and I'm thoroughly fed up having to close the boot before I get in the car and close the boot when I get out. Not to mention when I forget to close it before driving off and get whistles and bells on the dash telling me boot is open!!!
Anyway, part is now in and it's booked in for Tuesday, my only concern is the garage tell me it's a big job and they need to take the bumper off to fix it....I'm worried now!!

Wouldnt have thought its a "big job" removing and refitting the rear bumper takes about 2 hours.

We thought may have been a key fault, but the garage said was water in the mechanism. When they removed the rubber bit there was water inside. As I said, I think it's all to do with the amount if times my poor wee car has been frozen up, then thawed out then frozen up again all through December.

Boot lock now replaced and working. Overall good service from the dealer and car given back all gleaming (cleanest it's been since start of the bad weather at start of December). My pride and joy is in perfect working condition again !!!
