Bluetooth and my iPhone

Hello,

Lots of questions about bluetooth out there but I can't find anyone who's had the same strange issue as me.

I just got a beautiful RCZ with a very yummy JBL upgrade and NG4 satnav system.

My problem is i can connect my iPhone to bluetooth and go to my address book to make a call, and my PHONE makes the call, but the car has no recognition of it, keeps playing the radio or goes back to maps.. so the person i've called answers, i can't hear them, they can't hear me, and then what makes it worse is that i can't hang up... and even if the person i called ends the call, the car's NG4 won't close down and shows message 'can't turn off as call still in progress' - i have to take the fuse out every time to get the lid to close!

Have tried factory reset and managed to lose all music off jukebox and speed camera upgrade to the maps :( very sad! tried uploading a new upgrade for NG4 off a CD and the system freezes completely. So at a very dead end here!

Tried my partner's iPhone with the NG4 and it makes and receives calls perfectly! But i try my work phone (also an iPhone) and it won't work and i get the same as above!

Anyone had ANYTHING similar or can offer any advice?

Already very disappointed i can't play music from my phone over bluetooth or via AUX (as there just isn't one!) with this upgraded JBL system.. which, in my eyes, defeats the point of the juicey speakers!!!!

In my old GT200, I thought the AUX socketry was in the glovebox - there was a video input as well, if I recall?

I've used the NG4 for over four years with various Symbian and Samsung Android phones and haven't had any bluetooth problems.
Which iPhone do you have?
Be aware that the fault may also be the iPhone so you may want to re-install that. Have you ever had your iPhone working with other bluetooth devices?
Regarding the NG4 update disc hanging: are you attempting to update its firmware?
If so, I've read somewhere here that you can disconnect the battery to stop that and then try again.
I've had my dealer update the firmware on mine.

Thanks for such prompt replies both! Nice to join the family of RCZ lovers ;)

I believed there was an AUX in the glovebox too along with video connection, but if i try to play music from that the system says that it can't as its a driver distraction... i think it must think i'm trying to play a video or DVD!

the iPhone tried with are an iPhone 5s, an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 5c all of which didn't work. It's odd that my partner's iPhone 5s works fine, but has the same software as the other three! i must have a strong magnetic field! :wtf:

As it keeps freezing all the time as well i guess it may just need updated firmware..?! which trying to do from a downloaded file burnt onto a disc isn't working too well!

frankvdb - Out of interest, how much did the main dealer charge to update the firmware? maybe this is safest/wisest solution!

and yep my iphone(S) have worked perfectly with BT in all other cars!

hi
After having several problems with my ng4 my dealer had the same problem with it freezing whilst trying to update the firmware and have had to replace the whole unit ( under warranty thankfully )
