Hi All

Just bought a rcz 200 and loving it!

This morning when i tried to start the car it wouldnt start as the battery was flat. The dash and everything else lit up, the analogue clock started going mental and the digital clock time reset. The engine management light also came on.

I bumped started it and the car goes fine but the turbo doesnt kick in. The engine management light is no longer lit.

Do i need to reset anything or anything else?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum, I would suggest you change the battery :eusa-think: just because you’ve eventually got it running doesn’t mean the power needed to run all the electronics is there, there have been quite a few owners had all sorts of running problems and eventually have traced them to a poor battery. Hope you get it sorted keep us informed of how you get on as it may help owners in the future.

Thanks for the reply. I will get the battery changed.

I know bump starting isnt very clever but I had to get to work and it was only a one off!

Thanks all.

Battery changed. The battery it replaced was the original battery so was struggling with all the short journeys with the lights on.

I still feel that the car is slightly under powered. The mechanic heard the turbo kick in so the turbo is working and suggested that the car was in a "learning mode".

Is this a thing? The car does feel like its loosening up the more i drive

Tip: When the economy mode shuts down the electrics early after 5 - 10 mins and not being able to use electric seats when ignition is off, is the sign to get a new batt. :greetings-wavingblue: and get a heavy-duty one.
