Hang on a minute here. I hate to piss on everyone's chips BUT a national magazine/website that will make a fair old wack off of subscriptions and advertising wants you to pay to turn up to have a few pictures taken for the magazine that they receive money for and you get a no cash????

Am I the only one in here that thinks that this is a little crazy? And just how many times has this trick been pulled on other forums for other cars????

Well it's a point of view. Not one that I share. However nobody is having their arms twisted here. If a member would like to obtain professionally taken photographs of their pride and joy for free and have their car featured in a magazine as well as watch the behind the scenes events, then they will put their names forward. If like you they feel that money should be exchanged then I guess this is not an offer that would be of interest.

Now a days photography budgets are very small across the board. It's silly really as they are an element that engage the broadest spectrum of visitors to a website. But it is what it is sadly. I can imagine vicky has a very tight budget (no dirty jokes please  )
I often have to source models that 10 years ago, would have been paid well. Now it's peanuts. :(

By all means follow it if you are interested but I can't help but think it's heading towards exploitation but then again I'm always of the opinion that if you are good at something, you shouldn't do it for free :)

Hi Folks,

I help research the buying guides for Auto Express magazine and one of the next ones I’ve been asked to do is on the Peugeot RCZ. Therefore, I need to find a non modified car, which I can put into the studio to photograph for the piece.
Can you please get in touch with me if you’ve got a car that we can put in the studio – it needs to be a tidy example that hasn’t been modified. The spec doesn’t matter as long it is as it came from the factory. There will only be studio photography of the car, so there will be no dynamic shots taken at all. Only you will drive the car and you can stay with it at all times.

Now comes the snag, due to the fact that I'm supposed to get these cars either from a dealer or a press office there is no fuel budget for the shot, I appreciate that this is not ideal and I'm not asking for anyone to do this unless they want to, but if there is an owner who is close to Derby or Beaulieu and who feels that a professional photoshoot, which would cost approximately £400, is a fair swap for their time (a photoshoot takes about 3-4 hours) and fuel, then I can obviously give them more details.

If you think you might be able to help, could you drop me a line please, either via this forum or direct to my email address ([email protected]) – attaching photos if possible.

Please note that the Derby photographer can work weekends if necessary.

Thanks for your time,
Vicky

Vicky how about a 3 year review of the RCZ i'm on 82,000 miles now and he will be going at the end of the year.

Hi All

Sorry I haven't answered the questions straight away, I was out of the office for a couple of days. I completely understand what xzibit206 is saying, and why. It is something I have brought up with the magazine on several occasions as I have told them that I am now starting to get a bit more interest from private owners so cars aren't just coming from dealers and press fleets. However it is a bit like turning a tanker around. What I do is send them over the forum links so that they can see for themselves what people are saying which will hopefully help sort things out. However as OO58RON mentions all I can do is lay the cards on the table and see if there are any owners who feel that it is a fair swap. We know from experience that private owners value the experience and pictures more than dealers and press fleets (they tend to do a few a year) so the plea is like a toe in the water to see if there are any interested parties.

I appreciate that this is a reason to some and an excuse to others but at the moment it is the rule I have to follow and I know it's not ideal.

Nellibear - I have put your proposal forward and if anything comes of it I will let you know.

Many thanks
Vicky

I would do this if only I lived closer, but Auto Express has already used my car in a video review on YouTube when it was brand spanking new (It was done before I bought my car a year later).

Hi All

Sorry for not keeping you up to date, covering a couple of events meant I couldn't get to the web that easily. As lee055 has said we have asked if he can do the shoot and he has agreed, so a date will be sorted shortly (the photographer is just drying out from Goodwood Revival!). I would just like to say thank you again for the help and interest you have shown in this plea, it has been appreciated.
Thanks
Vicky
