Auto Express photo plea - Peugeot RCZ

Hi Folks,

I help research the buying guides for Auto Express magazine and one of the next ones I’ve been asked to do is on the Peugeot RCZ. Therefore, I need to find a non modified car, which I can put into the studio to photograph for the piece.
Can you please get in touch with me if you’ve got a car that we can put in the studio – it needs to be a tidy example that hasn’t been modified. The spec doesn’t matter as long it is as it came from the factory. There will only be studio photography of the car, so there will be no dynamic shots taken at all. Only you will drive the car and you can stay with it at all times.

Now comes the snag, due to the fact that I'm supposed to get these cars either from a dealer or a press office there is no fuel budget for the shot, I appreciate that this is not ideal and I'm not asking for anyone to do this unless they want to, but if there is an owner who is close to Derby or Beaulieu and who feels that a professional photoshoot, which would cost approximately £400, is a fair swap for their time (a photoshoot takes about 3-4 hours) and fuel, then I can obviously give them more details.

If you think you might be able to help, could you drop me a line please, either via this forum or direct to my email address ([email protected]) – attaching photos if possible.

Please note that the Derby photographer can work weekends if necessary.

Thanks for your time,
Vicky

Why don't you go to the 'Member's Gallery' forum and look into the photo-competition threads?
( not the announcements, the 'Topics' ones below that with the finished polls)

There's plenty of page-one material there, all you have to do is to ask the owner of the photos.

Hi Tom

Thanks for this, forgive me if I've mis-understood your reply but what I need is for an owner to take their car to a purpose built car studio to have a photoshoot done of it. The photos in the member's gallery show the cars well but I can't use them (after asking permission) as they are not in the magazine's style.

Again apologies if I've mis-understood.
Regards
Vicky

I doubt you will, but if you don't get what you need I have a commercial studio down here in Cornwall. I can work to the photography spec/guide lines, colour profiles and editing standards.
I'm picking up a new 63 plate dolphin blue on Saturday.

Hi Vicky,

Would we have to detail the car ourselves or would this be provided as well?

If the latter, I am interested.

Dear All

Thank you for taking the time to reply, it is appreciated. If I take each one separately:
Lee055 - If the steering wheel is a standard Peugeot I can't see this being a problem as it could have been asked for when the car was ordered - I guess? If you would like me to put you name forward I can.

Photojohn - whilst you may not be able to help out with this guide (a 63 plate car would be too new for the guide as it tends towards being a used car guide that we do), if your studio can fit a car in comfortably you may be able to help out in the future. Please drop me a line to [email protected] and I can give you more details.

JWT - The car doesn't need to be detailed for the photoshoot as it is a used car guide so as long as it has a normal clean and vacuum that is fine, we don't look for a concours car as the majority of cars on the garage forecourt wouldn't be in that condition - sorry.

Hopefully this helps but let me know if you need any further information.
Many thanks
Vicky

Vicky ...when is this likely to take place? Is it at a date mutually convenient?

It's something I MAY be interested in as my Amber is bog standard (but I would be travelling from Aberdeen). Would have to discuss with the OH.......

Hi Donna

Thank you for your interest, the date is mutually convenient but we are trying to get this done by the beginning of November if possible. If you speak to your OH and let me know I can certainly put your details forward and we can look into the date then.
Many thanks
Vicky

Hi Vicky, I live in Southampton so I am not to far from Beaulieu. I work for Meridien Modena the Ferrari Dealer just up the road from there. I have delivered a classic Maserati to the studio a while ago when it needed a professional photo shoot before its date at a classic car auction. When would you need the car for? Mine is the "old" shape. It is 18 months old and in excellent condition apart from a couple of slightly kerbed wheels.

ONLY the two...?! I took two out at once. I can't even blame the missus...or can I...? :eusa-think: No definitely not because I practically returned home wearing a black armband as a mark of respect that day.

Back on topic, this is awesome! I really hope one of you guys and girls can get their car in the mag!! Incidentally, do you get any high res copies of the images taken?

vicky yes definatly stick my details down, mine is a 61 plate old shape, the only things that ive done is wrap the door pulls and gear stick surround but these can be reverted to stock in 5 mins as i have origional spares.
other than that the car is standard (not even a kerbed alloy)
i work in derby mon-fri and live just outside lincoln so im about an hours drive away (close enough)
If i was the lucky one chosen would i as others have mentioned be able to get copies of the hi-res photos? and details of which issue she would be in obviously

Hi Lee

Sorry I forgot to say that the owner will get a disc containing the high res images from the day which will include all the standard shots - front 3/4, rear 3/4, profile, engine bay, interior etc. as well as a copy of the magazine. Also if you take your own camera the car will be set up in a studio just sat there whilst the photographer changes a lens or alters the lighting - a competition shot just waiting to be taken maybe?!? (Sorry I know I shouldn't get involved but the temptation was too great!)
Thank you for the interest shown in this plea, it is appreciated and this forum will get a mention in the article as a place for information and advice.
Thanks
Vicky
