At long last the wait is nearly over...

Hi all,
well I joined a while ago when I ordered my RCZ but sort of slipped into lurking mode as it was a long wait for delivery! After 2 months waiting I pick up my Asphalt at 10am in the morning

I had to wait as they had it had just become the demo and there is a rule on how long it has to be a demo for (to be fair it fit in nicely with the return date of my company car). To say I'm like a kid on xmas eve is an understatment and I'm really looking forward to a nice drive into the Yorkshire Dales tomorrow to give it a a bit of a run and get used to it (I was driving a Mini Cooper S!!). If it's sunny I'll try and get some nice pics to post...

You do know of course that it is always raining in the dales. So be prepared for a good detailing session on your return home.

Cheers folks.

Well got the car this morning, spotted a small mark on the front (looks like someone use a dirty cloth) it is tiny but I'm a bit OCD! I nearly rejected the car, but it has done 3,000 miles so only one small mark is good going really and it's so little you cannot even feel it or see it in certain light.

Bit dissapointed I cannot play my tunes off my iPhone of stream then via bluetooth - I did know this having seen the posts here so I've started to shift tunes onto the HDD instead. Also found out when I got home that the software is old and the maps are 2010/11 - waiting for a call back from the dealer who I expect to just say bring it in and we will update it all, if not I may break open my can of kick ass!

Having started this with the crappy bit's I really love the car. It looks great, drives fantastically well and I already love it to bits. Had a nice long drive in it today and I just want to go back out driving again - it's been a long time since I felt like that about a car. Need some sun so I can get some good pics alongside my mates TTS :)

As it is a used car, then you are correct in thinking that one small mark is more than acceptable.

I feel you should leave your can of kick ass in the draw. It is a used car, not a brand new one. Why would you expect it to have the latest mapping? With the £1,000's you saved on the price of a new car you can afford £200ish for the 2011/12 mapping and still be saving £1,000's

Nah the can is at hand - it's only 3 months old, well 3 months since being registered and was sold as a 2012 car so I expected the 2011/12 maps and the latest software to be on it. I actually asked the dealer 3 times what the versions were so I could check and each time they failed to get back to me. I forgot to check on pick up, which is my own fault.

I can see your point on the money side I look at it the other way - the dealership makes a decent wack out of the sale so £200ish to them isn't a lot and I don't think I'm asking a lot (on the basis of it being a 2012 car).

Hi Starky, yep loving it a lot....even in the rain! lol

I got the cleaning kit, the Sales Manager who was running the car had put it to one side so it was untouched and available when it came to sell the car.

Just want a couple of dry , sunny days now.....oh hang on it's the UK :)

Wow that's great, you will need it :)
I've had mine for nearly two weeks now and apart from one very early Sunday morning it's been raining so it got one very good wash and a wax.
Least you will be getting the time to enjoy driving it right now and now washing, plenty time for that :)
