Hi all,

For those of you who have been following my post in the newbies section "finally the 9 month wait is nearly over...", I thought I would update you all on the progress of my car. I went to visit "arsey" today to check on the progress as he is finally getting his matte black suit applied and I truly have to say I am very happy with my decision to do the vinyl wrap the guys are doing a fantastic job and I think the lines of the RCZ are even nicer under the matte finish. They should hopefully be finished with the wrapping tomorrow (will be going back again tomorrow for more pics and to check on progress) so hopefully it will be back at the dealer on Friday for re-assembly. I couldn't believe just how much of the car they had to strip (took the technicians 2 days to get all the bits off without damaging anything - certainly was more work than our service manager anticipated but it pays to be careful and the results will be even cleaner as they didnt have to wrap around anything). Should hopefully take delivery mid next week, only thing left after the wrap is for the AV techs to come in and replace the headunit with a Pioneer unit).

Here are some pics I took of the surgery today...

Let me know what you thinks

Cheers
Noel

Thanks Donna I am stocked I have a smile from ear to ear already and it isn't even in my driveway yet - the rendering I had on my desktop for the past 9 months is finally coming to life and I love it :) glad you like it...

They certainly look like they are doing a good job, being very thorough. Just not to my taste though but good on you for being different.

i agree with RCZ1 not my cup of tea but they look like they are doing an extremely good job and won't be very many RCZ's like yours (i mean it in a good way) and I do like the idea of it and will be really unique

Thanks for the comments all - cars are really personal things and we each have our own taste of what we like and don't tile which makes us all unique :) will post some more pics later of the progress heading out to see them this morning

Some new pics showing the progress of "surgery" today..slow progress as the bumpers have proven to be more difficult than the rest of the car (no surprise really given the curves) They expect to have it finished by lunchtime tomorrow and back with the dealer for re-assembly.
A few pics for those interested...

TOTALLY looks like the Batmobile...ace! Will be interested to see the finished result and also to hear how it lasts. I too was a bit sceptical about this, I saw an Alfa Brera in a matte finish and was unsure how much i liked it and wondered how easily it might scratch, however, yours is looking potent.

Guess I might be biased but I really like that black matt look, I can't see from the photos but are you having any carbon wrap applied as well, ie mirrors, rear spoiler etc ? Will be interested to hear how you get on from a maintenance point of view, my wife's asphalt is surprisingly easy to clean but then again we have both gained OCD in terms of parking the car when out and about, anything basically to avoid any impromptu scratches/door dings appearing !. On the plus side at least you have the option of reversing the op so to speak and going back to a glossy finish once again !

Bloodlenga - yes I am retaining all of the controls on the steering wheel . I believe its the Pioneer AVIC F-30BT

Phantom - yes I am having the rear spoiler wrapped in Carbon Fibre to match the Roof and the Mirrors (these are the carbon fibre shell that was a option with the 200yr Anniversary Model - the dealer reserved a 200YR Anniversary Model for my car back in 2010 which shows just how long this project has been underway)

Thanks for the positive comments only a few more days and I will be able to show you all some pictures of the final product out in the real world rather than in the workshop with all its bits back where they should be.
