Another Newbie in Want of an RCZ

Hi everyone!

I stumbled across this forum whilst on the lookout for a new Pug. I'm currently driving a 107 (My first car! :p) so after a few years I'm looking for a (more than considerable!) upgrade. After deciding on a sports coupe, admittedly at first an Audi TT, I soon found out about the RCZ and was immediately smitten. I test drove one last weekend and I'm now resolute that I want one!

I'll say from the outset that my knowledge about cars is well… very poor at best, so basically I am here to learn as much as I can before I take the plunge and part with my cash (and to ensure I look after her properly when I get one!).

So I'm on the lookout for a used RCZ but that's about all I know at the moment! Undecided on spec and colour (mostly due to the care/maintenance implications).

So hello and thanks in advance for your patience at my probably stupid questions

Welcome aboard

Fools rush in take your time, why not drive around some local dealers to look at all the colours on offer.
It's what I did before I parted with my dosh :greetings-wavingblue:

:greetings-wavingblue: Welcome

Unless you are sure exactly which model you want, or can afford/insure etc make sure you try out all of the flavours available.... 156, 200, R. They are each quite different in many ways. :eusa-think:
There are also many different interiors/equipment levels etc etc so as Tac advised, don't just jump in after seeing one car - cos with the RCZ the first one you try you will love, so it would be easy to make that mistake. You might just love the next one even more:

And not forgetting the most important thing of all, once you get one put some pictures of it on here!!

Cheers guys :)

Yeah I intend to shop around, the one I test drove (200) has been sold so perfect opportunity to try out some others!

In the meantime I shall continue snooping around picture threads on here looking for inspiration :D

There is another engine option - don't discount the the diesel variant still very rapid and economic as well.
Try it and see might be cheaper to insure as well.

Diesel wouldn't suit me as I don't really do many miles, I'd forever be running it on a cold engine. I'm looking at everything but I think steering towards a 156 petrol at the moment. Early days though...

Hi Karina,

I'm still a newbie and only started looking at RCZ's about a month ago and have now got one, well the other half has and I'll pinch it off her when I can. I test drove a mk1 156 sport just to get a feel for it and was pleasantly surprised with the performance although really wanted that little bit more power of the 200 for when I drive it occasionally and wanted the goodies of the GT spec. I did push the budget quite a bit because I wanted this that and the other but Tracey really would have been happy with a Mk1 156 GT which is a great all round sports coupe.

Oh that's good to hear! Yeah I want the GT spec too (mostly for front and rear parking sensors) so will end up spending more than I originally intended.. :S

Isn't it always the way. However, it's better to save and spend the extra money rather than always regret not holding out for what you want. I had the GT, upgraded to the best alloys ;) but ALWAYS regretted not getting the "Vision Pack". :(

Same here Mrizzle I paid the extra for the MK2 200GT for all the nice extras inc the lush heated seats (toasty)
My only regret was not having the Xenons but hey ho. Mind you i`ve added over another £1000 of extras to personalise my Z and will have my alloys Powder coated very soon

So, after 3 weeks of (very proud!) ownership, I finally got a couple of half decent pics of my launch Z (although the lighting could be better..). I gotta say I am besotted, especially after she's looking so shiny from her polish and wax up today :D :D

Launch Z? Is that some special model? 2010 model?

So what are the final specs you went for then? :)
I see a Vision Pack but is it Opal White or Pearl? What about the JBL Stereo/NAV?

Looks good tho ofc as mine looks almost the same. But i have white mirrors ;)

Lovely car mate. I just got myself a launch edition about 2 weeks ago. No 118/200. What number is yours. Jason.

Yep, it's the launch edition Z, so a 10 plate. 200 special edition GTs were released to Europe (apparently 36 are in the UK) when the RCZ came out. It's Pearl White. This explains the details better than I will: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/peugeot/2010-peugeot-rcz-limited-edition-ar79189.html

If I'm honest, I actually prefer white mirrors but I love that it's the special edition (even if I could have had a newer non-special edition Z for less dollar! :| )

Jason, mine's no. 085/200 :)
