Hi all,

I've been lurking for a while, waiting for private plate swap from original '62 plate - and my RCZ is finally here !

The dealer fitted the Alcantara Sports steering wheel and matching gaiter - and I picked up an R Style gear knob in the Group Buy recently.

Normal comedy moments ensued when trying to remove the old gear knob:

"Right, just give it a really good pull - grrr - there's no space in here - I can't get any leverage on it - grrr - come on you b***rd ! - grrr - oh God, I've only had it five minutes and I'm gonna break something - grrr - hmm, there's some guy on YouTube says you need to unhook the gaiter to snip a plastic tie first - is that right ? - grrr - no, that can't be right, Kerry posted about just giving it a good pull and I think she's a girl <blush> - grrr - oh God, I'll have to go back to the dealer and get him to do it, except he won't 'coz it's not strictly for an RCZ - grrr - oh cr*p, it's never gonna come off - grrrrrrr - <pop> - oh, it's off"

Took a few snaps - to my eyes at least, it looks beautiful :)

Thanks to all for the warm welcome - and the knob gags ;-)

There's a very different vibe on this forum to the previous car forum I frequented - there, everyone moaned about the dealers, the price of servicing and parts and the fact that Audi's appear to be far less reliable than everyone was expecting.

Here, everyone seems to be really enjoying their car and figuring out ways to make it even better, with some stunning results.

Thanks again - I hope in time to contribute to the "love-in" !

I do my share of dealer bashing, so don't be fooled so easily. Clearly we have a point that is a valid one. However you are correct that in the main the Z has chosen some great people, that are willing to share their experiences of this great car on here. Looking forward to reading more of your posts, as you seem to bring out the best of RCZ1.
