This is my third alloy that i have problems with.

Signs of corrosion, i have sent a mail to the local dealer informing him with the problem .

Tomorrow i will phone him up.

I am so tired going and coming to the dearler.

I hope he will not ask me to take the car and see it.

I only wash my alloys with water and meguiars wash and wax nothing more.

thanks for the reply. this car is rarely used and if they were stone chips howcome they are accumulating only in one area on one rym? why do the corrosion always starts from an edge? to me the alloy is corroding and the corrosion will continue to increase. this also happened with another alloy that i had, the difference is that it started from the outer part of the rym. when i spoke to some friends of mine i was informed that it may either be some problem with the quality control or else how the paint is being applied on the rym. the corrosion always starts from an edge, as water starts seaping in. then it eventually starts spreading to the rest of the rym. the car has only approx 6000 miles on it and none of the other alloys (at the moment) have this problem. i am also starting to consider asking the dealer to change them to some fully sprayed and not laquared only models cause to tell you the truth i am getting quite disappointed with the list of problems that i had with this car.

but it looks like the 'Lion' is suffering too - and it's a plastic cap :eusa-think: :eusa-think: :eusa-think:

has someone tried to have your caps out with a screwdriver?

The dealer informed me that they are awaiting Peugeot to confirm whether to replace the Alloy or not. I have to wait till Monday.

Lets hope that they will change it for me .

That's sure what it looks like to me, can't really tell for sure by looking at a photo but it appears that someone has been trying to take out the caps with a screwdriver or similar object chipping the paint on edge of wheel ??????

That's what I thought it looked like because someone tried to do the same thing with my last car and left similar marks.

it could be the dealer himself when he changed a part from the shocks and suspension to try and fix the noise i had whenever i turned the wheels.

As i said the car is rarely out and the dealer took off the suspension to replace a piece of rubber (holding the mounts) and another alloy which was due to corrossion from the outer edge.

I think he used a screwdriver to remove the caps.

So it coud be,

But i am 100% sure that no one tried to remove the caps except of the dealer.

What i cannot understand is that the corrosion is all round the cap, so i cannot see how he tried to remove the cap and scratched all the diameter.

Check this thread for the history of my suspension story

Well I'd be marching up there, finding the said culprit, pulling the said screwdriver from his persons and most dangerously entering it where the sun most defiantly don't shine ;)

here the servicing is horrible. The mechanic wrote the service resume on the car roof before handing it on to me. And guess what as the car was covered with dust he ended scratching up all the black paint. I told them of what they did!!!!!!! As i did not want them to tocuh the car any further, i then ended up buffing off the scratches from my roof with my beloved DA.

It was a bit difficult as the roof paint i quite soft and ended up with a number of micro scratches. Then i had to carry the correction using a very soft pad and mixxing the cutting compound with finishing wax. The finish is now stopless :) but this is what happens when we leave our cars in the hands of theses ..................

Hell would have no fury if some little scrote in a boiler suit did that too mine, i always make a point in telling them not to wash the car, I'll be even worse when the ashpalt goes in.
Glad you got rid of scratches and happy with results but you shouldn't have to go correcting the muck up these idiots have done, I'd be getting them to pay for a correction detail ;)

Dealer just confirmed that they will be replacing the alloy. At least i do not have any problem with them to change deffective parts within the warranty period. What lacks here is the knowledge to solve certain matters. Thanks Peugeot, hope it will be the last alloy that i need to replace.

Thanks

I logged a complaint over year ago about my alloys corroding. Every centre cap looks like its been dragged behind the car for x amount of miles. I've paid out of my pocket to have 1 refurbished. The paint is bubbling on them and given another year it will start peeling. I've had my hubs replaced but they have turned rusty again (I also paid £100 towards this). I wouldn't mind so much but I tried really hard to look after this car only a handful of times spent the night out of my garage. I still can't believe that every time I switch it off the air intake hose collapses, sounds awful!
This is my 4th Peugeot and after the hassle with my last one & this one it's enough to put me off for life.

the thing is that currently i am covered by a warranty. matters shall change once the warranty is over as i need to start paying to have things fixed. i also discussed this with the warranty manager but it seems that nothing can be done. if problems will continue to crop up at this rate i won't have any option but to re consider an alternative.

yet again my 3rd alloy corroding. i have already changed 2 alloys. it seems that the original wheels have all suffered corrosion. this is the last alloy from the originals. once again the corrosion started from the centre. tomorrow i will post pics. i am 100% sure that no one touched this alloy.
