What advantages do they give?

Edited to say I mean't the fact they were black if that makes sense.

Compared to mine, these ones will work as I need new brakes anyway lol.

Apart from looks, grooves clean the pad surface and increase the brake faces (the leading edges of the grooves) so in theory the more grooves the more faces.
Good brake bite due to:
A - forcing pad material into the holes
B - increased braking surface (many leading edges in theory)
C. allowing gases formed during the braking cycle to escape from the disc braking face.

Of course, if they arent bedded in properly, they can crack and shorten the life of the disc, and they are a little noiseier than normal discs.

They also cool quicker and allow the gasses created by braking to escape quicker :)

They look really rather good Abz. Are they much more expensive than OEM ones?

I think they have an anti corrosion coating. So eventually they will be the same colour as normal discs, but the rim and hubs should stay black and not rust :)

That Ron :) Looking online, they are about twice the price of OEM ones.

Worth a punt when the time comes as they do look so much better and the RCZ is all about looks

My original brakes werent too bad apparently. But, the drivers side front disc had heavy pitting on the inside face of the disc, and the passenger side rear had a line all the way round the middle of the disc face where the pads werent doing anything :?

So, hopefully after bedding them in on the way to the meet they will work alot better than the oem ones :D
