We are currently in the fortunate, near unique position of having a ready supply of well built unique coupe cars at ludicrous prices - spending another c £10k or more isnt that fanciful?

Some options:

Half sensible:

EV conversion (controversial!!) 330bhp / 330 lb ft, 300 ml range, med to quick re-charge (using used mainstream donors)

Alternative character ICE engines and trans (flappy paddle option across the board where practical), such as: Alfa Gta with wilder cams and ITBs, Nissan 350 / 370 - other light V6 alternatives, Fiat / Audi 5 cylinder - even a TTS stage 1 engine would b fun if conversion cost not prohibitive (otherwise, just buy the TTS!)

Nutz (no I have not even eyeballed space available):

Mid mount compact, light HP V8 driving rear wheels via used Porsche transaxle / what would fit (replacing unused rear seats, with Pantera style bulkhead right behind front seats) + optional front EV motor to make use of FWD set up to make 4wd with smart adjustable front to rear power distribution :)

No hate messages re originality plse - the cars are plentiful and so cheap that spending a bit more to build something approaching super car status could b fun for the adventurous and the few?
