Advice Please

Evening everyone. I'm considering two petrols, both 2010, one 150bhp and the other 200bhp. The 150 is a Sport and is up for £4250 with FSH and 43500 miles. The 200 is a GT, asking £5500 with 43000miles and had a new timing chain, etc., at 23000 miles. Both look pretty clean, but anything else I should be aware of?? Thanks so much.

Check engine oil when cold watch for blue smoke from the exhaust whilst standing in traffic or accelerating look for sooty deposits in the pipe take both of them for a run getting them hot this will be the benchmark for checking leaky valves & carbon build up in the head & check the coolant tank level also any suspension knock over bumps may mean the top mounts are worn & the drop links are tired search old MOTs look for any oil mist residues on or near top of rocker cover listen for Turbo whistle when picking up speed look at the tyres & brake discs & last but not least check both sides for the jacking points!
The 200 is the best of the 2 but they need regular oil services well before a service interval as they have the VVT system

Open the oil filler cap and look at the color of the oil inside with a flashlight, it should be a light-medium caramel color, run away if it looks very dark or black!

Or, just buy the 200 cos they go like sh1t off a shiny shovel, trust me, I’ve had mine almost 12 years.
