BTW I found that google is pretty good in conversions, so I entered "187 cm in feet" and found that I am 6 feet 1⅝ inch :crazy:

I haven't got a clue as to what my height is in metric nor my weight come to that. Even the Americans confuse me by using Lbs :crazy: I know that 50mm is 2" and so have to start there, but don't confuse me with cm :wtf: I also know that 80km is 50miles but again that has to be my starting point.

I can't function in metric for height, weight nor distance (not speed measure in km/h). However, pre metric money is a complete mystery to me. Mind you, depending on what happens in September I could have a whole new currency to learn. It'll probably be called the Salmon(d) with 100 trouts making up a Salmon(d).

I work in a mix of imperial and metric, so for me it's:

Millimetres
Centimetres
Inches
Feet
Metres
Miles

I can't get my head around subdivisions of inches (e.g. eighths) hence I use Millimetres & Centimetres. There's too big a gap between cm's and a metre, hence I use feet. Kilometres are too short to be of use (at least the way my head works) things are either close enough to be described as 'over there' or are x miles away

I grew up with imperial measurements for everything (including old money). During my lifetime most things I've happily swapped to metric (eg. money, measurements, weights (including my own), capacities etc.) but other things I stick with imperial eg. miles (for obvious reasons), personal height etc.

If the UK had bitten the bullet and gone totally metric on everything we'd all be used to it by now and think nothing of it.
