That is true Ron with the likes of BMW. Its the same with Mini - you get "packs". You have a basic car and then you build it up. Mini have things called the Chilli pack, amongst others. These contain a group of extras which are added to the car. Anyone looking to buy a Mini will know what all these different packs are and look for them when selecting a Mini to buy.

Apparently, according to this dealer certain packs are viewed as "must haves" and so a car without them is considered to be harder to shift and is valued accordingly. But our fully loaded RCZ's all get clumped together with no seperate price guide for any of the extras that we option from new

I guess its worth looking around for a dealer that knows what the extras are worth. I have less than half the mileage expected for a car this age, every single accessory in the book which included both the carpet boot liner and the rubber tray and the car does not have a single mark on it. Not so much as a stone chip or a scuff and the interior is the same. All of this adds to the desirability of the car. When valeted it looks brand new.

The dealer taking my car already has inquiries on it and I am still driving around in it!! They have asked if it might be possible to get it in ahead of my new car arriving.

I would say that in the right hands the car has the potential for strong residuals but only if you don't allow yourself to be rolled over.

It is true Mr Shiney. My dealer already had my pearl white RCZ sold the day I traded it in for my facelifted Z :)

I ha've to disagree with this a higher spec car and a basic spec car, both with the same mileage side by in any dealerships will always be different, just look on autotrader to find this out,l was researching bmw M3"s and all where the same age with very similar mileage"s but the higher specced cars where more expensive, same goes for the Audi S3[/quote]
As already pointed out BMW's are a bit different and you are quoting an M3 and a S3 where its a assumed that the extras will be fitted, Top end Mercs wont get touched with a barge pole if they haven't got leather and command.

With a 16k part ex are you paying full price for the car?

Nope. I am actually not much over trade on the new car through a combination to the Mazda supplied deposit of £1500 and the dealer being a friend.

Thats a pretty good deal as there only so much to play with ? you normal dont get any other bits when you get a dealer discount?
The friends bit is good, i got my Rcz through the friends and family scheme.

If you are happy with the deal you got that all that matters really?

I have no complaints. I was made a more than fair offer on the RCZ and got a very good deal on the new car. Doesn't make walking away from the RCZ any less sad though!!
