Wonderful sound.
When I were a nipper (here he goes again), just after end of WWII, most years there were fly pasts over Buck House in London, for several occasions.
We lived top floor of council flat block just outside the East End of London.
The combined flight, maybe a hundred aircraft, would get into formation near Colchester, many coming from airbases in East Anglia.
We were dead in line with The Mall, the wide avenue approaching Buck House.
The whole lot would fly right over head and everyone in the flats would fill the balconies.
You could not hear yourself speak for maybe half an hour as they went over at low altitude.
Awesome!
