£425 to service RCZ GT 200bhp at Peugeot having a laugh!

Hi guys so in the week i decided to give Peugeot a call to find out how much a service would be for my RCZ GT. They told me it will be £425 !! Basically a trip to Ibiza for a week just for a level 2 service as for the RCZ GT 200 bhp model they would only recommend a level 2 service which has to be done every 2 years or 20,000 miles , i found this shocking a level two at Honda for the top range Honda Type S GT was 147 pounds and a extra 40 pounds to do the brake fluid change. Would any one recommend getting it service from the dealer as my cars coming up to 3 years old now has only done 6300 miles or are their any recommended Peugeot specialist in north west london. Where does everyone carry their RCZ and what sort of quotes are every one getting. Also recommendation on places for maintenance would be good Please let me know thanks. :eusa-think:

I think all the things you've just listen which is pretty limited plus they check to make sure everything working the thing is everything pretty much electric in the car so don't really want to risk taking it to a normal garage then the car plays up so trying to find out if their are any Peugeot specialist in London recommended or if any one got a simular quote from Peugeot to do their service m

Hi mate yep that what i was quoted at my local dealer .... mine to a 200 gt just gone two years old with just 3200 miles on it . Found a £20 pound off voucher on my peugeot site and a bit cheaper dealer else where, but they do seem to vary alot though.... :eusa-think:

Oil - £40
Filter £10
Plugs £40
Brake Fluid - £10

So maybe (and this is at a push) £100 in parts (probably half that to them)

Filter, oil change and plugs is under an hour job so £100 an hour on labour takes the total to £200

Unsure the time for brake fluid change but even at another hour i'd still expect sub £300

Just picked up this post and I agree some Peugeot dealers are a rip-off.
My GT200 is one year old next week and due for its first 1 year/20000 miles service. I have owned it 1 month and as an ex demo has done just over 1000 miles. I will do approx. 6000 miles pa.
Robins and Day Sheffield South quoted £379 and tried to sell me a 3 year service plan for £995, supposedly saving £191.
I have since been quoted £185, discounted to £165, by both Evans Halshaw and Bristol Street Motors (not sure if they are in your area) for a level 1 service, no plugs or air filter.
I queried the cost with the service desk at R&Day who still maintained that their price was correct as it included the plugs (supposedly needed every year!!!) and airfilter.
Eventually they agreed that as per the service book no plugs or air filter were needed until 4 years or 20,000 miles and they could also do it for £165. What a cheek!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I could use a local garage, but prefer to use a Peugeot dealer to get their stamp in my book and the supposed better knowledge.

Further to my last post, I suggest that you call Stuart at Peugeot Customer Services 02476 884812, who will confirm exactly what level of service you need each year based on age and mileage. From memory, based on 6000 miles a year, I only need a level 1 service (£165p.a.) until I reach 4 years/20,000 miles!

Hi rasser thanks for the heads up I will contact them tomorrow as I was quoted £375 for my first service . Mine is a 200 gt and only 3,500 miles on the clock from new so I to shouldn't have to have plugs or filter .... :eusa-think:

I'm all for competitive pricing but this lack of consistency and lack of clarity about what is required at various intervals is both confusing and concerning.

Not to mention the hourly rates that some dealers pay to subsidise their gin palace showrooms

I only had my 1st service at 2 years (~20K) and I didn't get a brake fluid change ......it hadn't crossed my mind to check as I'm sure all my other cars have been 36K and upwards.

I think it's shocking that Peugeot dealerships seem to be "pleasing themselves" and making up their own timeframes. They're playing god with our warranties.

A lot of us (probably me included where the 'brake fluid' issue has been concerned) are naive about what needs done and when. We pay these garages a lot of money (and trust) to look after our investments.

The issue with whats required when I guess stems from how the car is used. In the handbook it does state that service intervals will be half of normal if the car is driven hard or under city conditions - as with any car.

might be where the confusion comes from?

I would say that unless Peugeot officially inform each owner that it's changed, the correct service frequency for our cars is as it states in the service book that comes with the car. In my case that's every 2 years / 20k miles. However a non-compulsory annual check over is recommended.

As far as I'm concerned, if I've followed the compulsory service schedule and my book's been stamped accordingly, my warranty is intact. My dealer (Startins Redditch) has never said otherwise.

By the way £425 is miles higher than I paid for my 2 year service.....
