As a thought of a great get together for forum members I have just made an enquiry to organise a track day.
Info retrieved so far :-
1) You can bring your own cars along as long as it's road-legal you just need your licences, covered arms and legs and a helmet - which you can rent from us if you don't have.
2) Alternatively, you can rent a car from us if you don't have anything suitable (not enquired into price).
3) Your road insurance is unlikely to cover you on the track, but insurance is not mandatory - you just need to be aware that there is no 3rd party cover on track days - so it's at your own risk.
4) You can contact someone like http://www.reis.co.uk for track day insurance.
5) The day itself is an open pit lane track day 9am to 5pm so you can come and go as you please during the day.
6) Between £250 and £500 depending on the venue and time of year etc (that's for a car plus 1 driver, additional drivers are £50 each)
7) Optional tuition is £30 for a 20 minute session on-track with the instructor and a 5-10 minute debrief
8) I am part of a specific car forum and if I could organise a track day for that make what would the minimum number I would need for it to be exclusive?
Answer :- Depends on the venue and date. a weekend in the Summer might need 60+ cars to break even, a midweek day in November 20-30 (Mid week being Mon-Thurs).
A good starting point might be a small day at a circuit like Castle Combe, Anglesey or Croft - where you can do this sort of event for just 20 cars mid-week or possibly even at a weekend over the winter.
Anyone interested, if there is enough the I can see about location and dates.
