Had my white rcz 156cv auto for a few months now, absolutely love the car. Been reading the posts almost on a daily basis to get to know the car better and improvements I can make. In fact based on what I have read to date will be getting a stage 1 remap next week. A big thank you to all those who have answered questions and gone out of your way to enlighten the newbies like myself

I'm interested in hearing you comments about the remap.

Thanx

Yeah me too, as I know the petrol auto has lower power than the manual but its the same engine so obviously the engine can handle it but I assume Peugeot reduced the power in the auto as it may not be built to handle the higher power?
Or, it could of been one of those marketing things they do where they want to differentiate models so introduce restrictions which are entirely software only and can be unlocked for the savvy consumer lol
Either way, eager to hear your progress as I'll be getting one shortly and remapping is one of the first things on my list, provided I don't hear anything about the transmission not being up to the task.

In fact I asked about the automatic gearbox and they informed me that it can handle the extra torque and horse power with no problems. It's booked in for next Thursday so will give you first impressions probably on Sunday once I have taken it for a spin. Also, will comment on the difference between normal petrol and premium petrol

Thanks mate, good to have that confirmation about the gearbox, I suspected as much but wanted to be sure.

In that case, soon as I get mine I'm going to do the same thing!

Not sure if this is the correct thread but all I can say to IanC and RCZ-mad is you won’t regret it. after the remap the car is nippy, ágil and you can really notice the difference.
Switched to BP 98 premium Active,
remap gained 35bhp and 50Nm
plus ordered a sports BMC cotton air filter which should arrive middle of next week.
Very happy bunny and money well spent.

Should add that I used a specialist and the mechanic‘s BMW has the same engine which gave me me even more confidence.

Thanks for the info, sounds like it's worthwhile. Was the remap fully custom or was it 'stage 1' etc. for the car specifically?

Not sure how to answer this.
I explained that in my point of view the car felt sluggish and lacked power in the lower rev range.

I wanted the car to be nippy/agil

I wasn't interested in improving top speed. Wanted the car to put a smile on my face when driven on snakey roads.

We went for a test drive before and after so he knew exactly what I had in mind.

Hope my experience helps

My mistake, I missed the part where you said 'stage 1' in your very first comment ;)

No worries, should add haven't touched the exhaust system. Now will just upgrade parts as they wear out like brake pads/discs, tyres and exhaust silencer - can't think of anything else. Good luck with yours

Forgot to say that changed spark plugs (Peugeot) and Coils (Bosch) were replaced before remap as looked like they had never been changed or at least were over due
