what is the best way to do this to keep the costs down ? :helpme: :helpme:

It is quite a lot but they do more than change the oil (see the handbook). To cut costs you can shop around amongst Peugeot dealers or alternatively use an independent repairer. This doesn't invalidate your warranty as long as they do the job properly but the stamp in the book isn't as valuable, especially on a newish car.

As of approx June 2012 the service schedule changed (for no readily apparent reason) so the later mk1/pre-facelift models and all mk2/facelift models are now on an annual service schedule unlike the early mk1's which were bi annual.

The cost you quote is cheaper than what I was quoted but still extortionate. I went to a non-Peugeot but still franchised dealer for my first service who obtained the service parts from my dealer (I.e. proper Peugeot parts to maintain the warranty) but charged far less for labour. Mine was done for £160 parts and labour all in.

Have to say though, I suspect I may have been given a discount on the labour as an unspoken incentive to continue to use that garage.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I believe it's as you say one year or 20K, I know it sounds a lot for what they will probably do but having a Peugeot dealer history is invaluable when it comes to warrenty claims later on! These cars seem a little fickle with quite a few documented common problems a lot of which arnt cheap to sort(timing chain & associated gubbins for one) paying through the nose now may pay dividends in the future.

Personally having spent probably a very significant sum of money on your car, I would take it to Peugeot. Yes shop around amongst dealers, but your RCZ isn't a £3k banger.

Have a look on the mypeugeot-uk.peugeot.com site as you can get a £20 off voucher in my offers, and if you click on the servicebook there is a link for booking a service and it will give you a quote for the garage (I had a choice of 3) my dealer was for £110.
Mine had oil and filter, pollen filter and fuel filter (HDi engine).
The small print states this is for you actual car at a specific age or milage.

Worth a try

My 1st service is due next month and I'm already getting chased to book it in. Local dealer all in at £190, dealer in York all in at £180.
Good call from tianorth on the £20 discount voucher, easy money. Any saving has to be good
