my 1.6 2010 rcz loses about half a pint of water every other day sometimes quicker..checked the head gasket and that looks fine. cant see where it is actually going though..also when engine is hot my heaters still feel cold I was thinking maybe an air lock..does anyone have any ideas where the water could be going and how to bleed the coolent system to get rid of the airlock ? thanx guys

It doesn't sound good that you dont get any heat when engine is hot.

no wet carpet inside but have felt the hoses to the heater and they are cold so I am assuming its airlock...there is no obvious leaks :(

The 1.6 engine are known for using oil and/or coolant.

From the vents are heater controls on 28 or HI?
Is mono in use (so both sides are controlled from the driver's side)?
Is air recirculation on (3 arrows in a circle pattern)?

Oil is more acceptable to be used, coolant is NOT. Have you checked the coolant pump? It's known to leak.

found the problem...the thermostat housing split :(

You know, I was going to suggest checking that..
I've read it on a MINI forum.
