OK, I know I started this thread up, so for closure...I did try hard to find the right one for me, it just wasn't forthcoming. I was always looking at alternatives as the money puts it against some strong alternatives. In the end I bought a gorgeous Z4 3.0si Coupe. Thanks for all the great...

I presume the whole engine replacement information is again being withheld. When the previous dealership found out about it (literally days into the sale) they didn't change the advert, so clearly not disclosing the information, which is a bit naughty.

Pretty sure he was on a FB post which was discussing private prices a few days ago - people were saying private sales were slow, he was pretty certain his would sell in days! Let’s see what happens!

RCZ R cylinder head replacement required????

When I looked at the white one with the new engine in Chiswick I got a look at the price for the engine replacement and it was six thousand and something, for a full new engine replacement (they told me it was a new engine rather than me reading any paperwork to confirm this).

Yes the black one has dropped in price constantly for the last 3 months. The MoT history makes for some poor reading, seems the owner/s neglected it. Also it needs a fair bit of work having spoken to the dealer who was desperate to shift it. The white one is having that remedial work done as...

RCZ R cylinder head replacement required????

Ah the white one with the carbon roof? If its within 30 days (which I am pretty sure it is) then you can be going back to them under the CRA if the problem was present when you bought the car. The car needs to be of sufficient quality and fit for purpose. Something like you described sounds like...

Sorry to hear Wayne, which one did you buy, is there any comeback via the dealer who sold it to you?

Black 70k miles readvertised Turns out the white with decals never sold just withdrawn from sale.

Yes the low 17k miles black is surely a repair job.

Yeah that black one lived a hard life - checkered mot history and needed work done.

Interestingly the one in Chiswick has finally put some photos up (I went and test drove it and can confirm it has a shiny new block but also that the dealer will not share even redacted paperwork about the engine transplant) and bizarrely put the price up by £100. This was after they advertised...

I think you are right. I bought a Celica GT4 off a guy that had a warehouse full of cars and it was the neglected one at the back behind a bunch of classic Porsches etc. that he had forgotten about.

I think my biggest one was selling my R33 GTST Skyline in 2015 for £5k. Would be worth around £20k now haha

Yes the used car market is all over the place at the moment. I bought my Vx220 in 2019, added 10k miles and sold it for around 25% more than I bought it for.

I agree, I think once you throw thousands at the car doing that work, and then come any sale time find you cannot recover the money, you are better off (if you have the funds) to go for the R which will only depreciate with the miles. Its coming into buyers season now as well for sports cars...

Yeah I saw that one it’s 2 miles from me. Strange as I’ve never seen it on the road. That’s a great advert for the longevity though, that even highly strung engines if cared for can started going up to moon miles

Yes I was thinking £500 for the wheels alone. And yes saw that ad, had a conversation, wont be pursuing.
