Re: From this to this in 3 weeks
I like the new black look!
My arches are still silver. How did you do the black arches? Paint, wrap?
Did you remove the badges before plasti dipping? How are these attached out of the factory? What did you use to put it back on?
I had a problem simular to you. I had one of the DRL replacement LED's changing brightness all the time. If I changed sides the other side would change brightness. I got a replacement LED for that bulb and everything was good.
So if I understand right, the small LED in the upper part is the highlevel-brake-LED? And the glow you see in this upper compartment when not braking is actually coming from the lower part? Then the flickering I see could be the highlevel-brake-LED quickly switching on and off when the 'normal'...
Maybe I describe it wrong (or have it wrong in my head ;) ) but it is the upper part that starts flickering when I brake.
I thought the small LED which is placed there was flickering but it could actualy be the brake light then?
The headlights are on when the back/sidelamps are on so nope, working fine when leaving the brakes alone.
It has something to do with this canbus system and that the power running to the back/sidelamps is not constant when also the LED brakelight comes on.
Thanks for the replies.
But the problem is not, atleast so it seems, with the LED brakelamps themself but the little standard LED's above the brakelamps. But only if I use the LED's for brakelamps so;
original back/sidelamps + original brake lamps = all ok
original back/sidelamps + RCZ...
Hi,
I would like to know if someone knows a solution for my problem with my aftermarket LED brakelamps.
The problem is as follow;
The standard brakelamps are switched with 92 LED brakelamps from RCZ Performanceshop. In the beginning (winter 2012-2013) all seemed well but then I parked backwards...
Ok, good to hear that even with the 200cell sportcat and larger exhaust system it is still not to loud. I don't like wearing a baseball cap ;) (no offence)
Your ride is looking very impressive. I do have to get used to the look of the single exhaustip in the large diffusor gap but it is growing...
I got the LED's from RCZ performance and I find them more then powerful enough. Sometimes it catches my eye and I'm amazed by how they brighten even the whole area on the ground beneath the car.
The picture does give a good impression I think.
It won't be long for the intercooler from Forge is ready. A few weeks ago I found this fitting guide for their RCZ intercooler: http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media/FMINTRCZ.pdf
@RCZ Performance: what has changed to the unit in this instruction and the final unit they fitted in your car?
And...
I think this link from Forge (installation of the silicone turbo hose for a MiniCooper): http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media/R56DH.pdf and this link http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=020104&product=FMR56RDH tells you all there is to know.
I just took a picture from the side in my car and it is about 4" (or 10cm) high.
I believe it is the same 'cannister' as you have on your picture. So in your picture, if you turn the buttom right hose 90degrees clockwise, it will fit in the right side of the upper hose with the grey netting on...
If you stand in front of your car and look at the turbo unit, you see two big hoses at the right of this turbo. One comes from the airintake box and the other, the one closed to you, goes down from the turbo straight to the intercooler. This last hose has a part in the middle what looks like a...
Maybe Forge can explain the purpose of this damper to you?
And I hope to see and read about the new items soon! All these items are on my wishinglist :-).
Mine had something like that this summer. I drove away and saw a big black pool in the rearview mirror. And not long before my dashboard light started flashing and beaping etc.
Mine leaked oil from the 'electric valve' (I don't know the english word for it,....I even dont know what this part...
One hose, without a damper, of the Forge intercooler-hoses does replace the standard hose with damper.
RCZ Performance, do you know what effect this will have or where this damper is installed for in the first place?
I did miss the ruffer downpipe in your shop, but that will be fixed soon then :-)
HJS (this companies CAT is used in the Supersprint downpipe and maybe Bastuck + ruffer?) also has a direct replacement downpipe for the RCZ of their own, which is cheaper then the supersprint, bastuck and ruffer. I...
Great choice I think, and ofcourse the sport cat  . I'm playing with the same thought but have not dicided yet.
Do you know if you have to remap the ecu also to make use of any performance boost you could get from this upgrade?
Is this the same if your car already has a 'stage 1' ecu...
Do I have to buy new tyre pressure sensors for the new set of winterwheels+tires?
Are these expensive?
What happens if you don't install these sensors? I pressume the warning light will be on all the time? Can they turn the pressure check off in the software?
