Fixed - my fault (again)....
Spare tail DOES fit the old sensor hole on thermostat housing so 15 minutes this morning and done. Was worth checking as was pretty sure did not! So for those still with the old style housing this is a very simple 15 minute fix to a major headache. Thanks to the...
Ok from Sedre I can see it’s a four wire setup and seems to include a wired thermostat - not clear if can be seen in photo here. Will need to take another look at the car tomorrow.
Mine has similar setup with the water pump friction-driven as necessary - the friction wheel unit/tensioner having an electrical connection. This is cutting in and out fine with the new setup.
Temperature gauge also now working so positive progress.
I will check the electrical drawings to see...
The sensor I screwed in is also a bleed unit which helps - the brass thread has a flat section for the purpose. The sensor is hard wired into the tails but there are two plugs - both male - one of which clearly plugs into the loom - the female socket unplugged from the built-in old sensor on...
Ok having been told by Peugeot here in Cyprus that the only fix was a new modified thermostat housing plus a new sensor at total Parts cost of 300€ I asked instead for this sensor at 50€ and just fitted in bleed hole. All seems good, temp gauge now works. Perhaps a daft question but the “spare”...
Ok further confused. Peugeot today gave me a sensor - a push in type with clip, not screw in - and said this is right for my chassis number. Of course the thermostat housing is original on this car and does not have any such hole to pop in the sensor - said to be just forward of the bleed screw...
I don’t disagree but with only just over 22k guaranteed miles on the clock I thought better to leave what’s in place alone for the time being as should still be ok. But I take your point - I will be keeping an eye on this area, not that it’s easy to see any issues as they develop. Wasn’t there a...
Ok thanks - I’ve tried tracing the wiring back to a plug from the old sensor - but wiring taped together in mini loom and I don’t want to open that unless absolutely necessary. Where was the plug/socket you connected into - roughly? Did you open the loom?
Thought would share this from my 2011 36k km 200THP.
Noticed oil patch on car stand getting worse and seemed to be coming from upper back of engine on drivers side. Difficult to get into see or feel so removed the plastic pipe and steel bracket that sits on right engine mount. Popped in mirror...
Hi, thought would close this despite my embarrassment at the cause. The analogue clock and the AC écu have a same size and colour (black) 6 pin plug. Unfortunately the wires will reach each as both in same vicinity. You’ve guessed it - I had swapped the plugs over when refitting the dashboard...
Thanks excellent post and despite a while ago still valid for me at least - car still with original fitted sensor. Anyone seen the recall notice by any chance?
Thanks for this, I’ve since come across an excellent post re a recall for this model where the bleed screw on the thermostat housing was changed for a retrofit temp sensor that is then plumbed into the wiring where the old sensor was plugged - ie old sensor left in place just as a plug. Sound right?
Seems I have the intermittent coolant gauge issue where shows nil, shows red with stop car warning, sits in middle, sits at 30% etc. From what I see it is probably due to a faulty sensor and this is where I’m a bit confused as see comments that the sensor is integral with the thermostat housing...
Hi
Certainly re-gas needed as I had the system pumped down to replace the aircon condenser and rad. But unit was not showing any life before that either. When I trace the earth on pin 4 black connector at AC control unit in the car it’s giving A high resistance to earth for some reason so I...
Hi
2011 RCZ, 200 petrol.
Climate control unit in the car which I understand is also the ECU does not light up at all, seems dead. Subbed with another unit and same.
I’ve checked the 12v feed and good.
Earth line (pin 4 on black connector) is a strange one. Shows resistance to earth of about...
