Fan comes on after start Air Leak

Not sure if you have resolved this but I had a similiar problem with a code showing unmetered air after I changed the rocker cover. Fans on all the time while driving and stayed on for about 10 mins after the car was parked. I had a pipe loose on the PCV that I forgot about and had to re attach...

Timing Chain issue - after details of people who have had it

Mine was done at 47K by previous owner and the documents came with my car to prove it. During my ownership I changed the rocker cover gasket and looked at the guides and chain. They all looked fine no wear on guides no chain slack or engine light the car ran great but I replaced the Tensioner...

    Cleaning RCZ alloy roof bars

Some good products out there to cover up the stains in the alloy like WD40 and Tyre shine. For a longer term solution I use a rubbing compund paste like Maguires or Mother's, currently using Mothers. Apply the compound onto the roof bars and then use 0000 grade wire wool either by hand or a...

    Water in driver side footwell

Did they check the rain water drain holes under the windscreen wiper scuttle? There is drain holes under it if they get blocked the water will pool and find a way into the cabin via the bulk head.

New member, had the car a while

Hiya Simon. I can't help you with the hdi engine wise as I have a 156. The NG4 sat nav issue with flickering screen can easily be sorted out by replacing the cable from the screen to the headunit its a common problem. I picked up a cable from a 308 at a French Car scrap yard but I have also seen...

P0016 Cam/crank Error after valve gasket change - 1.6 Petrol

Definately only one VVT on a 156 on the inlet camshaft side. Yes there is a seperate Camshaft sensor too and again its on the Inlet Camshaft at the opposite end of the camshaft to the VVT.

P0016 Cam/crank Error after valve gasket change - 1.6 Petrol

The VVT (back of the engine) does indeed work via oil pressure as you can see the valves in it when you take it out. The Cam sensor on a 156 is at the top of the rocker cover on the right hand side. That works via a magnetic contact at the bottom of the sensor that correlates with the lobes at...

    Crankshaft sensor location

I had no errors on the OBD reader and no engine light on and no other symptoms. I only changed it because I was chasing an oil leak. With the timing chain tensioner being the most likely cause of the leak in that area I changed it for a new one. But as I had taken all the pipe work off the...

    Crankshaft sensor location

New Tensioner next to my old one. You can see in the other picture the hole the Tensioner goes in. The round metal casing with the plug in is the VVT variable valve timing solenoid that works off the rear Camshaft.

    Crankshaft sensor location

I did Tom via the flywheel. It's the top hole in the housing. However, after changing the tensioner I went to take the fly wheel tool out of the housing and it had fell on the floor during the process 😆 There is only one cam sensor on the 156. It's the VVT solenoid at the back of the engine...

When you say Carbon Fibre roof do you mean no metal all carbon fibre manufactured roof? Or a Carbon fibre outer layer? Love those arches. Satallite system as in what kind of system?

    How rare is yours?

Other than the date of registration I wonder what the difference was in the Launch edition, decals, factory mods, engine enhancements ? Not suprising there's hardly any left. I bet the engine blew in a few that the poor owners were not aware of the timing chain issues back then.

    Hdi noise improvements?

They dont, my mate at work has the same car. Lovely inside and I was suprised to see the R gear knob on it as standard. If your not a spanner man/women and do over 12k a year the derv is the way to go with Zs. Otherwise the high price at the pumps doesnt off set the price of fuel per annual...

    Alternative Jack Points

I personally wouldn't go anywhere near the jacking points with anything! They are crap and made of Cheese you will just make them worse Puck or no Puck. Avoid the un stabled scissor Jack too. The best place to Jack the car up is to use the bottom of the suspension struts front and back and use a...

    RCZ 200 EP6 CDTX :- VVT Solenoid

Yes I did. I didnt lock the Cams just the fly wheel through the top hole in the casing. Lots of fly wheel tools on the internet but I borrowed one from a friend of mine who has a mini. You have to turn the Crankshaft with a huge socket to find the hole so basically it's really a two man job. My...
