Welcome 🖖🏻 Nice car 👍 I have had my GT200 for over 8 years now, when you do take it out for the first time to check the performance, 2 things to remember, check there are no speed cameras or police vehicles around, and take a spare set of boxers & trousers with you, you will likely need to...
Which model RCZ do you have ? What size wheels and tyres are fitted ? Are there any spacers on there ? Has the car been lowered ?
If everything is factory standard, maybe there is an issue with the front near side strut/mount/suspension/linkage.
Does the car pull to the left when driving...
When my Brother was alive, he always owned top end BMW’s, Mercs etc.
He was not known for being the most careful driver and was on first name terms with the guy from the local Chipsaway franchise.
I have to say I was always mightily impressed having seen the before and after.
They could...
I take it that it won’t pull out any further. 🤔
As has been advised, I would ask at least a couple more of the mobile type dent repairers, chips away, dent devils, dent magic etc.
It could well end up as a body shop job though I’m afraid 😔
The thing to look for with a high mileage HDI as has been pointed out, is a good service history. Although the engine is very capable of high mileage, you need to check all the parts of the car that would be susceptible to wear, as they will have also done the same mileage as the engine.
Hopefully the coil packs & plugs will sort out your issue. I had the same problem with mine a few years ago & replaced coils & plugs. It seemed to be OK, but shortly afterwards I had the same issue.
I then had the fuel rail & HPFP replaced under extended warranty & it’s been sweet as a nut since 👍🏻
As Neil has said, this has cropped up on the forum quite a lot over the years, but I haven’t seen anyone who has been sucsesful.
If you do manage it, make sure you document how it was done & come back on here, preferably with pictures. You would make many RCZ owners very grateful 👍
If you want to try a BSI reset,
Here is the BSI reset procedure:-
BSI reset....
Put the drivers window down, lift the bonnet & ensure all equipment is switched off.
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from ignition,
Wait 3 minutes, disconnect vehicle battery & wait 15 seconds...
That post is from over 10 years ago. I don’t think the OP is still a member.
the car does have plastic parts that have different paint on them. This can be seen under UV light very clearly….
Looks a lot different in the daylight….
I’ve been trying to remember if the Red Carbon had extended leather as standard. I seem to think it did.
If you use a proprietary leather cleaner on them it should work just fine even if they turn out to be the faux stuff.
Astonish do a very cheap leather cleaner that I have found to work as...
The spoiler automatically deploys at @ 55 mph and lowers again @ 35 mph. It can’t be seen at stage 1 deployment from the drivers seat. At @ 98 mph stage 2 deploys which can be seen through the rear view mirror.
If you want to check auto deployment you can try raising the spoiler manually...
I have always run mine on Shell Nitro V Power here in the U.K. This is 99 octane. If on the rare occasion I need fuel & can’t find a garage selling premium fuel, I always add Red X fuel additive to the tank.
My car is now 8 years old & has always run like an F1 Merc 😄
Welcome 🖖🏻 @Jami-Panda I can’t deny being jealous of your beautiful R the only thing that could make it better would be if it was red 🤣
You have really dropped on there with a nice late model R. Be prepared for an overdose of smiles, admiring looks from passers by & a stiff neck from looking...
