The mild compound I used was Meguiars Ultimate Compound. It's a good product. It's idiot proof on paint as well with an orbital polisher and foam pads.
YES! I bought an R a few months ago with bad UV and water spot stains. An excellent detailer told me to remove it, not cover it. I started with a mild cut which worked but would have taken all day. Then I added super heavy cut to the mild cut to speed things along. Depending on the polish, you...
Hi and welcome. Nice story. Fellow RCZ owner here from Oz. Lucky enough to pick up a lovely R a few months ago. I've had a couple of false alarms with the "STOP" light on the dash coming on. No big deal. I've got a very experienced Pug mechanic. It's just "one of those things" and we cleared...
yeah lol.
I just got delivered a set of front Alcon discs and pads from the UK. Half the price as here. Win! I don't need them now, but they are good to have for the future or sell them with the car if I ever sell it.
There's been a couple written off in Vic sadly. One up in the Dandenongs went off. Another got side swiped by a truck. It'd be cool to catch up some time. Go for a drive.
Got it in July this year. I bought it sight unseen from Port Lincoln SA. I love it. Can't wait to take it up to the hills for a blast. I like going up Healesville way. I also have a Clio MK 3 RS200 which another great car.
I polished mine with compound. They weren't that bad though. Try a light cut compound first. If that doesn't work, mix it with some heavy cut. If that doesn't work go 100% heavy cut. If the heavy leaves them rough, finish with the light cut. Treat them like paint. Finish with Aerospace 303. Mine...
OEM = original equipment manufacturer. IE: In this case Peugeot pads. Even though they are reported to be made by Ferodo by someone here.
Ferodo DS2500 are pretty popular here in Oz with the Renault Sport crowd. RS Meganes and Clio's.
I ordered OEM from Fish Bros. Just because I figure if the factory pairs a particular pad with those discs they must be the correct option. And my mechanic just said go with the OEM.
I've just ordered a set of Alcon discs and pads all around from Fish Bros for that day when they need doing. With shipping and 10% tax at my end, they still end up half price as dealer prices here!!
I'm going to buy a set of discs and pads from Fish Brothers as linked above. To confirm with you forum folk.
Some early discs warped. Is that correct?
What caused this?
What did they change to fix it?
Is there a way to tell the old design from the new?
I don't want to buy a set that are the...
Peugeot Parts Direct have the front discs on sale for 666 pounds. Is that a good price? I'm thinking of getting some shipped to Oz to have on stand by for when they need to be done. Peugeot RCZ 2009-2015 Front Brake Discs Alcon PSA 380 x 32 | 9813333180-080 RCZ
What's a good low mile RCZ-R in the UK worth roughly?
In Oz they are about 18,000 to 21,000 UK pounds converted from Aussie dollars.
Bear in mind we only got 32, so super rare.
