The reason HPFP usually fails is not mechanical, the reason is usually lack of oil.
It consists of a hydraulic piston pump that transmits oil pressure to gasoline through metal bellows.
Over time it loses hydraulic oil. Underneath it has a small oil tank with a membrane and a spring that I...
In the last photo, if the small filter on the left has a tube coming from below, then it has nothing to do with the PCV system.
It is a breathing tube and filter for the turbo regulation solenoid valve that is lower down.
It should be hidden in a cavity in the timing cover, but someone left it...
If the discs are worn with very worn pads, it may be that the metal of the pad scratches.
Furthermore, we always tend to look at the exterior pad but they do not usually wear out equally and it may be that the interior pad is still more worn.
Unfortunately the RCZ does not have wear sensors...
Water vapor coming out of the exhaust for the first few minutes in winter is normal, water condenses inside the exhaust and then comes out when starting.
It is very different if smoke comes out when accelerating after having been idling stopped, already with the engine warm, at a traffic light...
CAN Bus does not work in an analog way by changing resistances, it is a digital transmission bus and among many other informations the position of the buttons is transmitted.
Obviously for your Android to have that information it must also be connected to the CAN Bus
Keep in mind that in modern cars there is no longer a cable for each button, lamp or function, the devices communicate through digital communication, the most used system in cars is the CAN Bus
Surely they didn't mount the chain correctly, they skipped a tooth on a sprocket, some camshaft works out of phase.
Go back to the shop where they did it and have it fixed, the repairs are guaranteed.
It's not difficult, I did it.
You have to remove the pipes that go to and return from the air filter.
Better also remove the battery.
To remove the fuel inlet tube you just have to press on the plastic clip, not pry it out like they do in some videos!
Make sure no dirt gets into the fuel tubes...
I continue to insist on the high pressure fuel pump.
A diagnostic device should be connected to the ODB2 port and see what the fuel pressure does when these missfiring occur.
If there were problems with the head gasket you would have an ugly foam under the oil filler cap.
