If the fault doesn't recur, the EML will turn off after a certain time.
Above all, change the oil often, as this can also cause the P0016 fault.
If the oil on the dipstick is dark and smells burnt, change it immediately. Also, change the filter.
The THP engine is prone to consuming some oil but the most worrying thing about what you explain is the smell of oil when stopping which usually indicates major problems with the tightness of the pistons or valve seals.
A compression test of all 4 cylinders would have to be done, if compression...
My car has a piece of fabric held in place with plastic rivets and no holes.
Removing the rivets reveals an elongated plastic cover, and inside is the cabin air filter.
I have no idea what that U-shaped tube does.
I also had P2263 a while back, and it was finally resolved by cleaning a small filter at the end of a tube on the 156 HP that is hidden behind the rocker cover.
The turbo solenoid valve has three tubes: one goes to the vacuum pump, another to the turbo wastegate membrane, and the third goes to...
A radio station's transmitting antenna is usually not located in its studios, but somewhere separate from the urban area where it covers a larger area.
Perhaps your car has a faulty antenna, a module hidden by the headliner, or perhaps the cable has become disconnected in the rear of the head unit.
The seats have a module that needs to be configured, but I don't know how to do it or if that will solve your problem.
Also, your car doesn't have side mirrors with position sensors like those with memory seats, which also have different wiring harness
Starting in the mid-1980s, Peugeots began to be highly protected against corrosion.
I owned a 1988 205 GTI for 20 years and never saw a trace of rust. Although I live in a less humid place than the UK
The complete opposite of the Alfa Romeo 33 of that era.
Open the oil filler cap and look at the color of the oil inside with a flashlight, it should be a light-medium caramel color, run away if it looks very dark or black!
There's probably something wrong with the variable valve timing (VANOS).
Vanos makes one or both camshafts rotate some degrees from their initial position, according to the ECU maps.
This error occurs when the camshaft isn't positioned where expected.
It could be a problem with the VANOS...
I was wrong, the window motor is exclusive to the RCZ. I ended up getting a new one on eBay, an original part made in 2024!
It's finally fixed and working properly :)
Thanks but I already tried calibrating it, but it was impossible because it barely worked.
The garage is waiting for a new motor to arrive; they say the old one is broken. The part costs €417.
It seems that it can still be easily obtained since the Peugeot 508 uses the same motor.
Hopefully...
There are now electronic gas detectors with a rod that are much more effective than using fluorescent liquid.
The important thing is to go to an air conditioning specialist who can find the leak. In workshops without the proper equipment they only refill the gas.
If it's a leak in the...
My chain has 146,000 km and has never been changed; it's the original one.
At approximately 110,000 km, I changed the tensioner because a rattling noise could sometimes be heard within a few minutes of a cold start. The noise disappeared after changing the tensioner.
The main cause of timing...
Try changing just the tensioner. I did it 40,000 km ago and never heard the knocking noise again when cold. The engine now has 146,000 km.
You might be pleasantly surprised.
...and above all, change the oil every 10,000 km or 6,000 miles.
