My opinion, I have read a lot about this so called Godspeed replacement pistons/ repair kits etc.
The fact is for any R moving forward all parts need to be original, the R is probably one of the very few cars on the road from the manufacturer, that there is simply no point in trying to better...
No point period with a lightened flywheel for a road car, there will be no gains with something like a RCZ, or any other car for that matter running the same power, setting of from a standing start will be harder, more chance of stalling the car amongst other problems.
Track car maybe an...
The problem is not on the outside with the xenon headlights, it’s on the inside that can’t be fixed period, and anyone with even a pug extended warranty, it will not be fixed.
Peugeot warranty claim it’s UV damage.
Its a material problem with the heat generated from the lamp.
They were available in August, is this recent? surely this won’t continue as writing for example an R off because of a damaged headlamp is pure madness!
Feel your pain there, the sun can be worse than rain for long periods of exposure, trouble is with covers they can scratch paintwork no matter how careful you are taking them of and putting them on.
Did you not have the battery checked before changing? also have you not had the codes read?
Can‘t see how a software update would cure tbh, be very interested in the outcome of your problem.
Like that, I will be tinkering also through the winter in the garage, as cars for me has always been a serial hobby.
Know what you mean about having fun with something low powered and more connectivity, was only talking about that the other day, my friend has an A35 very fast, but says its dull...
Can I add, there Is a lot of criticism with regard to the reliability of the R, the fact is it’s a high performance car, therefore it requires over and above maintenance to keep it running perfectly, no more than any other performance car in my view and through my own experience.
I think if...
No nothing serious as yet, hard to gauge what demand is like, but I think if I was selling cheap, car would be gone.
Car is locked up now for the winter, I didn’t expect to sell quickly given the market and factored in a long period (around 6 to 12 months given on how long others have taken) to...
Sounds like the battery, have you checked? Had strange things happen on cars when there on the way out.
Otherwise I would just get a garage to read the codes.
yes had plenty of Vauxhalls, especially the VXRs, super reliable along with all the Citroens I have had, currently have one for my daily (Citroen) can’t even remember when l last put screen wash in lol
On a lighter note though, think the only Z which seems to be most troublesome is the1.6...
They always have been, the guy that bought my last car(collector) had a couple of pugs in his collection, can’t see many Rs with the mileage going anywhere else.
Bargain for that mileage, wondering now if Rs are with that mileage are going to be locked up in the collectors stable, to good to drive…. Little sad maybe?
Car looks stunning Flanners, I think the attention to detail on R is Key, especially with the alloys and brakes.
With reference to Dingers, I have followed him on FB and he really has had to spend a lot on his car, brakes HPFP, it is a substantial list, he has listed the spend mileage etc in...
Yes have to agree, feel your pain with the spend, these cars need to be under warranty and that is not cheap, or not available to some because of the age.
The price of parts is eye watering to say the least, we have a TT also and parts are so cheap in comparison and much easier to get.
I would...
Recently drove the car to work for the first time, being as the weather is nice, my round trip is 100 miles per day which is why I use the diesel for work and not the R.
Its been my first chance to really stretch the car on mainly motorway miles, couple of things I noticed at lower speed...
