It's not a garage's job to check simple things like windscreen wipers. The driver should be picking up on things like that. No garage is going to check headlamp alignment prior to an MOT. Expecting a garage to offer a free service due to the above is unjust. The garage hasn't done anything wrong.

You're lucky when a garage carries out a service doing what they should be checking and changing. Headlamp alignment won't be part of a service. Simple things like windscreen wipers are down to the driver.

Diamond cut wheels don't last. Once refurbished they never last that long. You do only get a limited amount of refurbishments before having to powder coat them. The finish on mine are breaking up again. I'm looking for alternatives at the moment. I think the silver on black of the R wheels...

You can check when the V5 was last issued and the road tax starts using the DVLA site. The road tax is still active from the last owner just now. If the road tax is renewed then it's on the road with a new owner.

My R had Continental Sport contact 96y when I bought it. Once those tyres were worn I went Goodyear Eagle AS2 92y. I'm now on Michelin Pilot 4s 96y. I think the slightly stiffer sidewall makes the car steering feel better. The 4s is much grippier too. It's an impressive tyre

There's a car with 81k on the clock been added. The paint has been chipped off around the wheel arches and rusting. I'd have thought the dealer would have tidied that up before putting it up for sale. It's too noticeable. Does nobody fit guards to stop this happening?

There's a black one on eBay now with 4 days to run. It's an auction with a reserve. It's a 15 plate with 33k miles. It got a private plate, but it was up for sale in January with plate LG15XBN.

My new discs arrived yesterday. Very disappointed with the condition they arrived. They were battered and bruised with chips out of the disc. They've been collected and waiting on new ones now.

You'll need to get a fault code reader to start with. I've got a Mini Clubman S with the same engine. It can be a bit stuttery from a cold start. Putting 100ml of Millers Oil fuel additive to a tank stopped it happening...

It doesn't appear to be very accurate. I tried my car. Front discs and pads for the R are £199. :) Someone should book something and see if they honour the prices.

The more I drive the more I'm impressed with the 4s. The way they pull the car out of corners under hard acceleration is way beyond the Goodyears AS2 or Continentals. They've taken the car up a level.
