It's a Euro 5 diesel. With all the LEZ coming in demand for cars that aren't compliant are falling. I wouldn't be buying a diesel car with the way things are going.
The MOT history looks good on that car. Only worn or perished tyres raised as an issue.
The garage got the auto electrician to check the car. They found the alternator supplied and said by Bosch to be the correct part was at fault.
The garage can't get a genuine alternator as they are on back order.
Has anyone any idea what the correct alternator is for the R and who has them in...
The battery was replaced and made zero difference. The alternator was changed and it didn't solve the issues either.
The garage has checked with Bosch and the battery manufacturer and they say the parts used are 100% correct.
Anyone any ideas?
That huge gap in the service history is going to cause real issues with selling the car on.
As Claret63 says the MOT advisory, the wheels, the headlamps, and the mirror caps aren't going to help the sale.
The photographs don't highlight the condition the car is in. It looks dull and dirty in...
The alternator failed and had to be replaced. It was collected and taken to a garage.
On picking up the car the fans kicked in full speed immediately. The fault code showing is P0A1A
The garage is telling me the battery needs replaced.
There isn't much on P0A1A, but it looked directly...
The diesel RCZs are Euro 5 and already subject to ULEZ charges.
I wouldn't be buying any diesel car and more so one that is already outwith ULEZ requirements.
The pistons have to be replaced. It's not an option. The brakes only function correctly for one set of brake pads.
Nobody is going to look for originality down to defective parts. it's a simple hidden part.
The original pistons are mild steel with a chrome coating. The chrome coating fails and...
From what I've read Australia only got 35 Rs and the UK 305.
The last couple of years there has always been 10+ cars for sale. Before that there was only a few available at a time.
I do think it's sad that so many people are buying cars as investments and they'll never be used as intended.
I don't think that a lot of the investors are car people. It's purely financial.
This is mine.
Notice the amazing Photoshop skills and the dirty dog nose marks on the window. :D
The resolution is a bit better if you click the picture.
I honestly don't think a full Peugeot service history adds any value at all. I would much rather see an owner that has chosen a specialist garage that is known for their work. Everyone uses main dealers to maintain warranties and fear of resale value.
My car has been to Peugeot main dealers...
How bad are your issues? It would probably be cheaper to repair than to change.
The RCZ is getting a little older now. A lot of owners sell cars when they have bills coming. You might buy another car with problems to fix.
I've not watched the full video.
Turbocharged cars often produce torque and power from very low revs. Modern turbos have little lag. The R is laggy.
Bad roads unsettle any car. I wouldn't consider the R fidgety. I think it's actually more stable than most performance cars in this class. Drive...
