The issue is now solved. In my case it was caused by the timing chain. Replacing the complete Timing Chain kit eliminated the smoke. If you see white Smoke when idle but your timing chain is working fine, first check the PCV valve in the rocker valve cover.

The PCV valve located in the rocker valve cover may have failed. A ripped PCV valve will allow the oil to pass through into the ignition chamber. That oil will then burn and produce the white smoke. I now have the car in the garage to replace the rocker valve cover, hoping that it is the PCV...

Flanners, that is exactly what is on my mind right now. I'll also have a look at the Diverter Valve, take this out of the way before getting onto Turbo or valve stem seals. Thanks

So I had the RCZ serviced this week. Put new iridium spark plugs on, changed the oil filter and old oil with fresh Total Quartz INEO ECS 5w-30. The car smokes when it is warm and left idle for a few minutes. I hoped that the Castrol oil I put six months ago was causing the smoke, but that is not...

I had the RCZ at the garage last week, they said that it is normal to smoke after been sit idle for some time. I switched to Castrol synthetic 10w30 oil at the previous service, I wonder if that would cause the engine to smoke. Will keep you posted.

No warnings or power loss, everything appears to be okay, apart from the smoke. It's quite a big puff really, it didn't do that before. However, the smoke is only there when it's idle and when I rev it from idle. There is no smoke when I am driving.

When sitting idle it will start to smoke a little of white smoke from the exhaust and will puff more when I rev it. It's not a lot but it is noticeable. A bit of history just before the white smoke happened. I may have overfilled the engine with oil, then drove off on the motor way and at...
