There are definitely some shitters out there which have not been cared for and some I guess with issues.
Shame you didn't look over the car to a greater extent especially a missing arch liner, that said sounds like your car is worth far more than the £11K that you state it is now worth.
Maybe...
Fact is Pug themselves changed the recommended oil specs from 5w30 to 0w30 in the Service Booklet for THP engined cars over time.
Use 5w30 it if you want I have before.......0w will flow quicker than 5w from cold start......it's all bollocks really as long as you use either and change on a...
The UK economy has relied on mass (mostly unskilled) economic migration from the EU and the 'World' as a means of cheap labour, which has kept wages for workers low (not including the bankers in the City of London propping up UK GDP by laundering the proceeds of crime cartels, drugs, Russians...
The main difference in the UK (and elsewhere) apart from additives packages is E5 and E10...the premium is E5 with less up to 5% (or can be no) ethanol in a higher octane fuel. I'm not sure your analysis that it's all the same product is true....even if the results for some using higher octane...

roll the dice.......as said loads on the market go and view a few more and get another one. Most Warranties offered by 3rd Parties by Car Dealers are not worth the paper they are written on.......We can all hypothesise....your money chap your choice. Good luck.
As an owner of MG's I wouldn't touch it. It could well be condensation depends on amount of Mayo, dipstick check would have been good too, Chemical Sniff test of coolant.....personally no way would I consider purchasing it. Is it worth the risk with so many on sale?
I agree doubtful on the fuel rail but you never know....from my replacement at a MD it was the new uprated pump and a 'metal fuel outlet connecting pipe'.....circa £1100 thankfully a Warranty job.
find out what they put in it so 0w30 or 5w30 synthetic oil probably and then top up.,,,..not an expert on HDi dipsticks but yours is on minimum so top up between what looks like the two white lines (in your pic) or blocks, I would go nearer the top. You don't say what mileage you have done in...
