Some of you may remember me posting on here before Christmas with problems with misfiring. After a very long and drawn out battle with the warranty company I finally got a brand new engine fitted at Taylor’s Peugeot, the bill came to over £8k
I am now looking to move it on, and wondered if there...
So, some good news after 5 weeks they have finally eliminated carbon build up. Their diagnosis? A new engine!! 8 grand! Now waiting for the warranty company to either ok it, or spend another 5 weeks looking for a reason not to cover it! I’m just absolutely astounded by the whole thing. Less than...
It has only recently become a Peugeot dealership, it was a Vauxhall dealership prior to that and now does both. Doesn’t excuse it though! If you want to become a Peugeot dealer as well, surely you get all the kit and know how before starting!
Latest update! Just had a phone call from the dealership to update me on when the tools will be arriving. Apparently there are 3 tools they need. Two of them will be here this Thursday, meaning 4 weeks and one day after the car first went in. The other tool they can’t get until December...
I sent a letter last week, detailing everything to date, but that was before this latest debacle! Unfortunately I can’t find an email address to send all the details to. Still waiting for a response from the letter. It would be difficult to list everything in a phone call so would far rather...
Latest part of the comedy sketch. Rang them Friday afternoon to see what they had done to the vehicle, seeing as that was the day they had set aside time to work on it. The service manager informed me that when they attempted to remove the valves from the cylinder head for inspection, they...
I have lost all faith and ready to go to war if they try charging me 20 plus hours of labour for it. They are saying now that they haven’t set any time aside until Friday to carry on working on it and will probably start checking the bottom end!! I asked if they had even removed the valves yet...
Ah, i hope the inside of the valves are as clean as the outside then! Can they not just whip them out and look? Or am I simplifying it too much? They don’t seem to be in any hurry whatsoever.
So. Garage have stripped the head off and can’t find anything obvious at all wrong. So if they put it all back together I am hit with the Labour bill and the problem most likely still remaining. Angry doesn’t really cover it! They dismissed my suggestion that it could be the high pressure fuel...
Thanks. I did see about that but Peugeot dealer wants to remove the head to investigate. If it’s a proper fault it will be covered by the warranty, if it’s just carbon build up it won’t be
2014 rcz with 48k on the clock, first went into limp mode with engine problem message. Got a code reader which showed misfire on cylinder 4. Changed plugs and coils but problem still remained. Went into Peugeot dealer who ran a compression test on cylinders and found practically zero compression...
