Z4 to RCZ

Made the leap from a BMW Z4 to an RCZ156GT, expecting to be slightly disappointed in some aspects of ownership.
So far so good, so much nicer to drive, only really missing that top end rush and 6 cylinder noise.
Compensation for that is not everybody wants to race you, you can see so much more not sat on the floor, and the economy is frankly wonderfull, cutting fuel costs by 25% is a result in any language.

Welcome. Surely disappointed is the wrong word? If you wanted a car similar to the z4, you wouldnt have bought an RCZ ;)

This is true, and again as has been said many times, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

When I went to test drive my Z, they had a Z4 in the showroom with the top down. We had a Megane CC at the time, and loved our convertable, having the top down very regularly. So you would think we might have been drawn to the Z4, especially as it was a car I had long admired, but then I saw my RCZ.......... No competition, it was coming home with me even before I got in it

Ah, Dang it. DKZ got there first with the "Beauty", "Eye" and "Beholder" line.
Personally I like the coupe a whole lot more than the convertable.
My B-I-Law had a coupe for a while - got rid for Business Tax reasons.
Did not think they were selling any more of these. Only Convertables on Beemer web site.

Anyway as DKZ said: beauty, eye, etc etc. For me they are a cracking car but spoiled a tad by the overly long nose.
Bit like Elizabeth Hurley, but hey, thats just me. :eusa-whistle:

Funnily enough, I really quite like the long nose, and also Elizabeth Hurley :eusa-think:

Getting a bit worried now, I also thought Concord was a great looking Plane, and I distinctly remember liking Pinochio as a child

Yes everyman and his dog seems to take up the challenge and the more power you have, the more determined they seem to be. I once had a 70+ gentleman( driving a Proton) harassing me because I was going 30mph in a 30 zone. Once free of the zone he decided to overtake me ( oncoming traffic) at a top speed of around 35-36 mph, all the while being aggresive (use of horn;shaking fists;etc) I had to slow down (I couldn't accelerate) just to allow him in before the inevitable. After that he continued onto a top speed of about 38mph. What was really hilarious was the fact that I was driving a tuned Nissan at the time.

Everyone around here seems to want to run me off the road. Im always getting cut up or people deciding they want to be where I am. I get the odd racer, but I just let them waste their fuel.
