Loved the looks, great performance, showroom condition but after only 6 weeks I couldnt fall truly in love so the black 12000 mile 200 has gone, took delivery of my Focus ST this week, got to say its delightful.
The RCZ just wasnt nice to drive on anything other than ultra smooth roads as it bucked and skipped its way through the steering wheel. Ho hum it wasnt meant to be. I even tried 2 others but all the same.
Wish you all the best and will always keep an eagle eye open for the prettiest car on the road.

It is a car that is not for everyone, but to be perfectly honest, if it handled and performed like a Reliant Robin, I would still have one just to look at on the drive

I wish you well in your new motor :auto-car:

Are people really that different that one can't even drive a certain car while others just hold the steeringwheel and drive like any other car? So if you drove a 2001 Nissan Micra you would end up in a ditch just flat out jumping off the road after a short while?

If you compared the RCZ to a Ferrari 458 i could understand the logic but a Focus ST is hardly even a step up the ladder.

Not trying to be mean but i don't get it....

Each to their own Tomas. I have owned several Fords in the past, and I can't honestly see myself ever having another, but, I would never say never..........

I have also owned two Peugeots in the past, and I couldn't honesy see myself ever having another ..........

I'm with DKZ5745 here.
I've also owned a number of Fords, but at this point there is nothing in their range that floats my boat, including the ST editions. That's not to say that may change if something nice comes out of R&D in the future. I don't rule anything out.
It is as bigmac says it's probably a speed thing, and/or ride'n'handling.
But then as we all know these two cars are chalk and cheese.
One is a lovely coupe, the other a hot-hatch.
It does not surprise me that Fords ride and handling is deemed better than the Pugs. They certainly have got there act together over recent years.
However It should be a case of buyer beware. Understand the differences and if you are sitting on the fence on car choice, make damn sure you have enough road tests, so you lay out the cash once not twice.
Also, I can understand flipping betwixt RCZ and Scirroco or TT, more than flipping betwixt RCZ and ST or Golf.
Different form and function.
..........but that's just me.

Peace.

Hi all' ...coming from a motorcycling background and enjoying the journey over that of getting to the destination its all about the ride, and what you want from the ride combined with the trust you have in the product ! There is a big difference between a Hot Hatch and a Coupe when it comes to overall handling ,,you only have to look at WRC over 25 plus years to see the gradual demise of the true coupe' in favour of razor sharp handling hot hatches. This difference is best felt not visually but in weight distribution and handling characteristics once you're behind the wheel going from apex to apex in a point and squirt mode.

It is like the other 'right honourable' Forum member said, its important that when selecting a car you get enough time behind the wheel to see if the car your considering is truly what you want in order you don't suffer having to buy twice!

The latter isn't helped by the way that so many Dealers give you a ridiculously short accompanied test drive with the obligatory acceleration strip thrown in and then after 5 minutes when back at the dealership they have you sat in the office expecting your signature on a purchase document whilst your still in awe of the acceleration with your mind not having the time to take into account everything else that is part of your individual wants from the car. :?

I don't diss ST's, Roc's or Golfs as having driven the Roc I preferred what I felt to be the more direct handling characteristics of it over that of the Z's  ,,,BUT i decided to go with my heart due to the heavenly silhouette of the Z' even though dare I say it the Roc was PERSONALLY easier to get the most out of the drive and of course more practical for more than two people! Its about being honest and that is something that makes me LOL and PML  when I hear that adults can seriously and realistically travel in the rear of a Z' ,,and i'm not meaning to offend anyone vertically challenged if thats politically correct :?:

I think that this particular post is good as it provides a conversational platform about comparison cars which is always of interest to true petrol AND diesel heads (..again being politically correct to include the many oil burners).

Hi Tomas_90 :greetings-wavingblue:

...WOW, I've never known anyone who has three contortionist friends ,,was the 25 km drive to return them to the circus to perform ?? !

You should be ashamed of yourself for punishing your three friends in such a way. Just because the Z's shopping bench has been shaped to look like two seats it doesn't mean thats what they are, you only have to look at the rear seat belt arrangement to accept Peugeot's stance on impracticality!

.the big blue (...and i hope your three friends don't take action against you under the Human Rights Act) !!

Actually they weren't even friends as such, just semi-random people needing a ride to a party of sorts :D And obviously this particular time when we were actually one person too many in the car (registered for 4 people) the police stopped us, but only wanted an alcohol test so kinda dodged a bullet there.

Anyway we went badly off-topic now... :(
