Hi all: simple one.,
After dark I can't see the hands on the clock? The numbers light up like the dash but the hands are invisible.
Is this the same for you all or has part of my horological illumination failed?
Just thought I'd ask before I go see my dealer to argue the toss with them...
thanks in advance for observations / corroborations.
cheers
M

I have had my Z for a year now, and I can't ever remember looking at the clock after dark

Does that make me a bad person :eusa-think: like Kerry, I always look at the screen. I will have to check mine next time I'm in the car after dark.

It's a strange one because although aesthetically speaking I like the look of the analogue clock however I almost never look at it, I always look at the digital one!

This topic has been discussed before here:

I posted a pic there where you can hardly see the hands in the dark.

Note that if you have the NG4 sat-nav, there only is a digital clock in the navigation view on the pop-up screen, which I tend to switch off in the dark to improve my night vision, so I think they should at least have put some reflective dots on the tips of the hands of the clock.

Thanks Frank I had searched on clock but got so many hits I gave up and posted instead....need to brush up my filtering techniques clearly.
As you say its covered before and same result . I drive a lot after dark & play discs so can't see the digital clock hence the question...
Seems a poor design spec oversight to me but I guess I'll just have to use the Tom Tom instead then.....

Had a check in mine last night, maybe it wasn't completely dark or something, cos I didn't have much trouble seeing the hands.
They could have been brighter, but I could still clearly tell the time. :eusa-think:

It also depends on your setting of the backlighting of the dashboard.
If it's more bright you may see the hands more easily as they block the light but I have put backlight low so that my eyes work better in the dark.
I honestly cannot spot the large hand in this:

Perhaps the illuminated material used for the hands has worn away so the illumination is not as effective. Does it have any effect if the dash board lights are increased to a brighter setting?

It is a beautiful clock though..!!
