Hey all,can anyone help identify the proper name for the silver mesh that protects the pipes( think it's some sort of heat protection,it's the frayed mesh you can see in the pic right at the front of the engine bay in the middle)mine has frayed a bit and wanted to source some new mesh to freshen up the engine bay.

Tianorth has access to the Peugeot manual so he might be able to source a part number for you!

It doesn't seem to be on the original fitment as not listed on the service box site.

Could it be part of the forge kit?
It is either a pressure jacket - to stop the pipe expanding too much, or a heat jacket to prevent heat softening the pipe, or a chaffing sleeve - self explanatory.

Should be able to pick up from Halfords, other motor factor, eBay, Amazon, Demon Tweaks, etc.

It's original alright, mine has it as well. It could be that it's a Part In Assembly and does not come separately though, I can't find it on servicebox either.

Thanks for looking it up,It's not part of the forge kit, just wanted to know the correct name for this part so I could order a replacement on eBay /Amazon.
Might just get the scissors out to it to tidy it up a bit, ideally wanted to get a new colour coded sleeve.
Does your engine bay not have the silver mesh?

Looks like you've got black mesh underneath too,I think it's insulation tape at the end.

Gonna use this to tidy mine up

Surely that is 'braided wire' usually used on brake pipes?

You're right,a quick search on eBay brings up loads of options and colour coded mesh too.

Very much appreciated, gonna get some new braided wire and tape off the ends with insulation tape like other members have on theirs.
