Can you replace the standard 18" rim tyres (Continental) with tyres that would provide more 'comfort' to overcome the firm ride. A profile of 50 or 55? Would it make a large difference?

Yes you can but you need to take into consideration clearance, load, and fitment for them to be safe and legal. However remember the RCZ is really a sports car and so the firmness will still be there in the suspension and setup of the car, and going to a higher profile tyre could result in negative ride and handling. So be careful. You might just want to buy better tyres.

Thanks,

So, what tyres would give greater comfort, without too much loss of handling?

Premium brand tyres and ones made for summer will give you the best results, but will wear longer. Softer the tyre the better the ride and quicker they wear. It's a trade of on comfort over longevity.
