Transporting a road bike in (on) RCZ

I thought most things through before buying an RCZ but not the issue of a road bike and how to transport it.

The boot, although long, does not look 'tall' enough to get the bike in even without both wheels off, have yet to dismantle as not a bike expert but wondered if anyone had managed to get a road bike in their boot? Or otherwise if anyone had tried mounting a rack on the back of the car to transport (and if successful what make/model used), as mounting one on the roof doesn't look doable?

Any feedback much appreciated.

Not yet tried, but I would think it would fit with the back seat down if you turn the handlebars flat and (possibly) rotate the front wheel to face backwards. For that you need the right size allen key and I use a hammer to get that extra quarter-turn that tightens it back up.

Getting wheels off is easy if you have quick release: certainly the front one will come off and on with no problems.

Peugeot do a bike rack but looks ugly.

you could go talk to your dealer about the towbar option, its one of those with the detachable tow ball so it should be invisible with it removed. there is also a bike carrier option that fits on the tow ball

going this way would also remove the possibility of scratching the paint work when trying to get the bike in the boot..

Hi TTJ yes a road bike does fit in with the seats down, and the front passenger seat pushed forward, as I found a few weekends ago 20 miles from home with a puncture and no spare inner tube or foam DOH...

I had to take both wheels off, it was a squeeze and i would not want to transport a bike around unless it was an emergency
