the toyota GT-86 (was the FT-86) starting price is £28,000 which is an insane figure considering it is a toyota with 200bhp but thats saying it is rear wheel drive and has a limited slip diff.

But still think that is rather steep for what is still a Toyota. (think the strength of the yen is to be blamed on this one)

seems like the Subaru BRZ might be closer to £40,000 grand now considering this is at £28,000 and this is meant to be the cheaper one

Very dissapointed if that's true. Was supposed to be a £20k when announced... Pity the Yen is so bad just now :(

thats because they were co-developed and are the same car only difference is that its rumoured the subaru will have a turbo charger on theirs.

why it has not got the Lexus badge is because Toyota realised that nobody under 50 wants a Toyota (maybe over exaggerating there)

so they decided to build a sporty car for the youth market to try to get them to look at Toyota more because if they do not get there attention soon they will have the issue Honda and Cadillac have currently which is struggling to shape the OAP reputation from there cars.

It's aimed for the driving enthusiast. Harking back to the immense AE86 corrolla. That's why the limited numbers and high price i guess. It has HUGE pedigree in driving circles
