Only just noticed - when in neutral there is a slight ticking noise which goes once the clutch is depressed.

Gear changes all easy but slightly notchy irrespective of just starting off or after a long run.

There is a 'hot' smell which I can't identify but there is no clutch slip.

Need I worry as I don't go through clutches (I have never in over a million (taxi /private hire )miles had a clutch fail!)

I wouldn't bother but when I come to sell ,questions will be asked ,as it is more noticeable when opening the bonnet.

PS It is Petrol 156

No not like that.

It is barely perceptible-a metallic ticking to the engine revs which goes when you rest your foot on the clutch pedal which takes up the initial play in the clutch action.

On fully depressing the clutch there are no undue noises.
