So should I try out that CRC GDI Valve Cleaner for my Peugeot RCZ 2011 THP156? Assuming and reading that cleaner is perfectly safe to use every point of that engine after engine air filter, but never should be sprayed trough MAF sensor, but THP156 engines don't have MAF sensor right? They only have that MAP sensor after turbo intercooler which should be then fine to let that cleaner go past?

On YouTube there are many videos on the subject, on THP engines, such as the RCZ, and on other direct injection engines such as TSI, or Ecoboost.

The truth is that with those sprays, looking at the before and after photos, the difference is small, they don't clean much.

In a video I saw that you can see the carbon deposits on the valves by putting a borescope through the spark plug hole, .... I think I'll buy one on Aliexpress.

Not sure why you would want to use a cleaner if your having no problems?

Yes it’s well documented that direct injection engines can suffer from carbon build up on the valves, but TBH I wouldn’t be looking around inside if I have no problems.

I have noticed when my car goes to Peugeot for a service there is a note on the service sheet, some sort of additive is added to keep everything clean, never took the time to ask what it is….
