The end is nigh

As I have this weekend accepted a new job, it's with a heavy heart that I have to say that my RCZ will soon need to go up for sale. My new job gives me the option of a company car, which whilst not the most exciting car list at 26 years old, gives me the opportunity to let someone else take the cost of running a car for me as I start my married life!

If I couple this with the issues I've had (not too bad to be honest) and the issues some people continue to have, although I'll miss the looks of my Z dearly as my wife suggested today, financially it makes sense to join the scheme. When I think of the car someone else will get for the money though, wow is all I can say (her indoors prefers her Fiesta as it's easier to drive, so she won't be having it - prefer it that way to be honest!!)!!

It could be any time from 3-9 months before she goes (with notice periods and lead times etc.), but I'll savour the time we have left....

My hand was forced like you with a new job so my RCZ had to go.
On the up side someone else to burden the cost is ok.

I know that times have changed. In my days of company cars they were all basic models and totally uninteresting. I "had" to let go a mk11 Lotus Cortina, but in those days a company car was totally free. No fuel, tax and full private use. I was very pleased to be able to justify buying a car with all the mod cons to enjoy.

I got rid of my Vauxhall TwinTops for the reason that you eluded to, "fear" that you too could experience the problems that others are reporting. However with the RCZ all has changed and I no longer concern myself with the what ifs and just enjoy the nows.

Best wishes for the new job and all the new possibilities that that brings with it and settle back and enjoy your last few months of Z ownership, safe in the knowledge that when the time comes to part company your Z will sell for a premium due to it's adornment of the RCZ forum sticker  The rarity value of this will increase it's kerb appeal and thus it's selling price.

All the best to you young man

Well, the end is sooner than expected. I tentatively put my car up on Gumtree to see how easy it was going to be to sell. Turns out, easy and it will be gone in 2 weeks' time. Will be going to a very happy owner and one after my own heart it seems and I'll be very sad to see her go.

My spare wheel is not part of the deal, so if anyone is interested...

Nice that she's going to a good home. Shame the new owner was not wise enough to insist that the spare must be a part of the negotiations. Had they been on this forum and had our knowledge that wheel would not be available. :eusa-think:

Sad to learn of another rcz owner moving on to another car. Still, best of luck with new job and that photo is very nice
