Just had the car serviced at the main dealer as well, now the engine fault light is on so plugged in the code reader to check and getting P0087 code. After checking it out its one of 3 things , just hoping it aint the worst of the lot, the fuel pump.
It happened the next day after the service, so left the car for a few days and drove it yesterday and the fault had gone, but today it came back on again.
So it be about £600 for a new pump plus fitting ☹️. Definitely not going to the dealer for the repair, but a pug specialist as the hourly rate is a lot cheaper.

If you can get the fuel trims read on a code reader it will certify if its the pump but unfortunately your right that code signals the death sentence for the pump you could maybe try the guy on eBay for a refurb job price ?

You shouldn’t be paying £600 for a pump and labour should be only an hour or so

There is a guy in eBay that refurbishes them.

He was charging £150 if you send your pump and wait a few days. There was a small premium to pay of you want one off the shelf. Also a deposit until you return your old one.

If your letting Peugeot replace the pump just ask the question wether your paying for the old style pump or the new improved version allegedly some owners are given the option with an added premium asked for the new pump

😞 worst case scenario, the pump and the fuel rail are both knackered. Its gonna costa small fortune.. but it will be fixed by tomorrow 😀

I agree doubtful on the fuel rail but you never know....from my replacement at a MD it was the new uprated pump and a 'metal fuel outlet connecting pipe'.....circa £1100 thankfully a Warranty job.

Fuel rails can & will fail due to a build up of contamination from dirty fuel & this will over time destroy the seals which by then the rail is goosed

Just as a matter of interest @turboguy how long elapsed between the service at the main dealer's and the engine management light first coming on?

1 day as I drove the car to work the next day and home and it was all fine(approx 50 miles). The following day I jumped in started it up and the lights came on.

I only asked as I wondered if you had gone back to the servicing dealer and asked them what they had done to cause the engine management light to come on.. (I have seen similar disputes arise during my 30+ years in the trade 😉 )

No didn’t go back as it’s £120 diagnostic at dealer , and they will always deny any wrong doing
